Our 100th Anniversary Weekend Celebration!
The 100th Anniversary Weekend is quickly approaching! The
UCC will be celebrating 100 years of Paulist ministry with a
weekend of events on Saturday, November 1st and Sunday,
November 2nd. Included in this special weekend will be 2
Masses of Thanksgiving (5:00 pm, Saturday, November 1st
celebrated by Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston
and Bishop Greg Aymond of Austin; and 10:30 am on
Sunday, November 2nd celebrated by Bishop Emeritus John
McCarthy), a Cocktail Reception and Gala on November 1st,
and a family-friendly picnic on November 2nd! It's going to
be a very special weekend in the UCC's history! Flyers with
more information can be found at the Front Desk.
Invitations should be arriving in your mailboxes by the end of
the month. If you're interested in buying a table or individual
tickets sooner, please call or email Amber Fogarty at 476-
7351 x13 or amber@utcatholic.org. Individual tickets are
$150, and tables of 8 are being sold for $2,000. Only 26 tables
remain! Corporate sponsorships are also available. Please
keep the success of this milestone event in your prayers.

Long time Resident Community Member,
Phyllis Exline, wife of Dr. Lob Exline,
passed away last Monday, August 4th.
Phyllis was a valued member of our
community, most recently speaking with
her husband of 60 years during our
Marriage Preparation Workshops. Her bright smile and
faithful witness will be missed.
Please keep Phyllis, Lob and the entire Exline family in your
prayers.
Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May her soul, and all the souls of
the faithful departed, rest in peace.

Do you know someone that has been accepted to The
University of Texas at Austin? The UCC would like to invite
them and their family to come and learn about our spiritual
home! Current Students, alumni, and staff will be hosting a
casual reception TODAY from 3:00-4:30 PM at the
University Catholic Center. Incoming Longhorns can ask
questions, meet other new students, and learn about their new
UT Catholic community.

Last week’s Black Bag collection raised $478 for the St. Vincent
de Paul Society, which supports and assists families in financial
need. This will be combined with our automated online giving
later this month. Our next Black Bag Sunday will be September
7th with proceeds supporting Annunciation Maternity House.

San Juan Diego High School is accepting applications
San Juan Diego Catholic High School is accepting applica-
tions for the fall 2008 semester. It’s an affordable private

Micah 6 Food Pantry
UCC participates in the ecumenical Micah 6
food pantry through donation and volunteering
on Thursdays and Saturdays. Many of the people
we serve are homeless. Don’t forget our “neighbors” who
have nothing during the summer. Please bring canned goods
and packaged dry goods to Sunday Mass for the baskets near
the fountain. We ask that you continue to support the Micah 6
Food Pantry with your generous donations. Contact Jim

University Graduate Students & Professionals-
UGAP is a group of post-college age people who
share and live the love of Christ in community
through worship, faith formation, social service,
spiritual development, and fellowship. We meet on Tuesdays
at 7 pm in the Mother Teresa Room throughout the Summer.

This month, the Paulists celebrate the anniversary
of their arrival to Berkeley, CA (1907),
Minneapolis (1915), Grand Rapids, MI (1947), Memphis, TN
(1954) and Vero Beach, FL (1985). Talk about a busy month!
