Arrested Development:

The Curse of This Generation

A powerful demon spirit called Arrested Development is manifesting today much more than ever before in
History except perhaps in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. It is a spirit that causes the social,
emotional, mental, physical and spiritual development of children AND adults to be stunted, stopped or
even reversed.

This spirit is mixed in with every demon who invades a person, for the task of every demon is to slow
down, stop or reverse spiritual progress. However, there are specific demons of Arrested Development
that work in men and women to keep them immature, mentally and physically handicapped and childish
and spiritually immature and gullible.

King Saul is an example in the Bible of a man with Arrested Development. David, although he fought with
this spirit, I am sure, overcame it and displayed a maturity in God beyond his years and except for a
couple of major mistakes, was a type of a mature, Christ-like person.

If any man was a candidate for Arrested Development, it was David. He was the eighth son in a large
family and most certainly did not receive the love he should have. Also, he was treated badly by his
brothers and fathers and made the slave of the family and given the menial job of tending the sheep at
night. However, it was this time of ALONENESS that actually was the key to his victory over Arrested
Development.

Men and women today with this spirit cannot stand to be alone, or bored, just like children. They are
prophesied in the Bible as those who will not stand to hear the truth, which is boring to the flesh, but
having “itching ears” with heap to themselves teachers who appeal to their lusts.

Rejection from parents is an open door for the spirit of Arrested Development. It also works with the
Alcoholic Syndrome. By drinking alcohol or taking drugs, a man or woman escapes the pressures of life
that are necessary to help a person grow in all areas. At the end of an alcoholic’s life, he or she is still a
child and unable to handle pressure, responsibility or mature relationships. The curse of Divorce works
with Arrested Development as lack of one or both parents causes development in the early child to be
stunted and arrested. Sigmund Freud, the father of psychology, believed that the father who either
rejects or excessively looks to the children for the love he missed will cause arrested development.

Psychology comes from the mind of atheists and is therefore not to be trusted as it is the demonic, earthly
wisdom. However, even Freud observed correctly that the psychosexual development of infants is
hindered by abuse, neglect, control or over-dependence of the parent to the child’s love. Of course,
sexual problems such as homosexuality, masturbation, frigidity and fetishism are all manifestations of
Arrested Development, which is a strongman demon leading many others.

It is also a curse that is passed down from generation to generation. In 1 Samuel chapters 3 and 4, Eli is
cursed by God with a perpetual curse of death to the male children in the flower of their age. This is a
form of the curse of Arrested Development, manifesting itself in early death and also trouble from the
children who would be snares and smoke in the eyes, to their parents.

Selfishness is a manifestation of the curse of Arrested Development. As little children are selfish and
think the world revolves around them, Arrested Development will manifest in greed, selfishness, miserly
behavior and delusions of grandeur. It works with a powerful demon called Automatic Failure
Mechanism, which causes everything a person does to fail and end in defeat and is linked with the curse
of the Vagabond (discussed in Apostasy: Demonization of Today’s Church).

“Spare the rod and spoil the child”, the book of Proverbs says. Lack of discipline or excessive, sadistic
discipline will cause Arrested Development to be transferred to the children. Those who have the
financial means to spoil the children almost always do and take away from their children the growth
producing struggle that having to work hard for their own money will bring.

Arrested Development will manifest by an inability of a person to get married. They will be overly
attached to their parents and be unable to LEAVE THEM AND CLEAVE TO A WIFE OR HUSBAND. If
they do make relationships with people, they will be attracted to false love and infatuation/romance rather
than a true love of commitment and sacrifice.

David, by being forced to be alone for long periods of time, grew spiritually by seeking God. He
developed a life long habit of being able to “encourage himself in His God”. When times were tough, he
was able to persevere and overcome obstacles, because he loved God and His Word. He knew the
secret of prayer and being in the presence of God. He knew that patience was better than being in a
hurry. He knew how to listen for the still, small voice of God.

God is called “God the Father” because He is a true Father. No earthly father can match His excellent
discipline, wisdom and love as a true father. David let the Father teach him, discipline him, lead him and
love him. “Who on earth do I have but Thee”, David said. Saul, on the other hand, was constantly doing
his own will, seeking his own way, being impatient, rebellious, stubborn and childish. He never overcame
these childish traits and his pride. It cost him his kingdom, his life and his sons life. At the end, he was
consulting witches and murdered the priests of the Lord. Witchcraft will be an enticement to those with
Arrested Development as they long to have power and control for selfish means.

Because Arrested Development works in all areas of the soul, flesh and spirit, the spiritually arrested part
of man will make him open to cults, deceptions, false doctrine and witchcraft. Because such a person is
also arrested mentally with inability to hear, read, listen or study, the God-given way out of deception,
through study of the Word of God is taken away. The overarching theme of David’s life was love for the
Word of God and the instruction by the Spirit of God of that Word. Saul did not want to hear the word of
God and got angry at it when it differed from his own ideas. In fact, the list of attributes of the “last days”
persons in the book of Romans and 2 Timothy are a litany of attributes of Arrested Development,

28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate
mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of
envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

The Second Epistle of Paul the Apostle to Timothy, Chapter 3

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to
parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are
good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away
with divers lusts,

7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Here we can see why Paul calls the last days “perilous times” with an epidemic of Arrested Development
due to the break down of the family and morals, society will become dangerous. Notice that people with
Arrested Development can even learn much but never come to the “truth”. There are doctors and PhDs
who are just as arrested as anyone else. They do always err in their judgment and in their search for
truth.

It was God who gave these people over to a reprobate mind. It was God who sent the spirit on Saul and
removed the Holy Spirit from him. Arrested Development can also cause spiritual reprobacy in those who
are just beginning to come to a knowledge of God. When persecution arises from the Word of God, or
tribulation, many fall away in part due to Arrested Development and become spiritual reprobates and
castaways.

The heights of arrested development will be manifested in the last days right before the return of Christ, it
shall be, as Christ said, “as in the days of Noah” and in the days of Lot - Sodom and Gomorrah. Sexual
inversion is the final societal manifestation of Arrested Development as well as murder, rebellion,
witchcraft and addition to drugs and alcohol on a mass scale. God uses prosperity and idleness, as he
did with Sodom, to lock such a wicked society in their sins unto damnation.

The spirit of Arrested Development especially attacks males, for by doing this, Satan can destroy the
family priesthood and male authority in a society. Men with arrested development, like Ahab, will allow
Jezebel women to usurp authority and lead the nation into sin and idolatry. Ahab manifested the classic
Arrested Development behavior when he could not get his way in the land owned by Naboth (1 Kings
21). Arrested Development will manifest as uncaring concerning the laws of God, as Ahab did. It is only
concerned about getting its own selfish needs met, even at the expense of morality. Many criminals
suffer from Arrested Development, who want the money for their own selfish desires and will steal, kill and
destroy to get it. Satan himself is a spirit of Arrested Development. He was unwilling to be content with
being the greatest archangel and was willing to rebel against God to get the worship he craved. Those
who have spirits of Arrested Development inevitably get worse and worse and turn into the image of
Satan.

The spirit of the Fool works with Arrested Development. This spirit gets a person to constantly do foolish
things with money, decisions and relationships. It will lead a person to do the wrong thing almost
consistently and will not heed correction, instruction or teaching from godly men or God Himself.
Here are some verses describing what happens to those who are fools.

Psalm 107:17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

Prov 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Prov 1:22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and
fools hate knowledge?

Prov 1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy
them.

Prov 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.

Prov 10:21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

Prov 13:19 The desire accomplished is a sweet to the soul: but it is abomination to fools to depart from
evil.

Prov 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Prov 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Eccles 5:1 Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give
the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil.

Eccles 7:9 Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

Those with Arrested Development will be attracted to fools, and the company of fools brings destruction.
Anger rests in the bosom of fools. Saul was angry, David was longsuffering and patient and slow to
anger.

Fools also are attracted to evil and sin and cannot depart from it. They are cavalier concerning the things
of God, morality and truth. They are easily deceived by soul-ties with evil people and are open to
emotional manipulation by false prophets because of arrested emotional development and are more
attracted to the flattering, non-judging false love of the false prophets than the true rebuking love of God
and His true prophets.

Arrested development will also manifest by desire to hang around with people much younger in age and
will even see themselves as being much younger than their actual years. Like children, they want to be
constantly entertained, excited and are easily bored. They cannot handle the discipline of study of the
Word of God or prayer.

Arrested development will manifest in children with hypo or hyper sensitivity, difficulty processing and
organizing visual and auditory impressions and difficulty in social behavior. Some of this is caused by the
damage done by lack of proper love and nurturing by both parents and some by inherited curses of
arrested development.

Today’s generation “X” actually revels in arrested development. One band actually calls itself “arrested
development” and juvenile, violent, selfish behavior is praised. The motto “live fast, die young and leave
a good looking corpse” is the nihilistic creed of today’s youth. Like King Saul, arrested development will
ultimately lead to depression and suicide, which permanently arrests development.
“Their glory is their shame” - the Bible says of the wicked. Shameful behavior is actually praised and
encouraged by those with arrested development. Their take pleasure and honor in doing destructive and
childish things, foolish risks and living a hedonistic, selfish life.
