I am looking forward to meeting old and new friends at the Northern Division Spring Conference being held at the
Red Lion March 16th & 17th. Northern Div. President, Karen Atteberry has chosen a theme of "REPUBLICAN
WOMEN - HEARTS OF GOLD". Many excellent speakers are scheduled for both Friday and Saturday. Some
local names you may recognize include Eureka Mayor Virginia Bass who will be welcoming ladies from as far
south as Monterey; and our local musical talent "Half Notes" will entertain us at the Friday night banquet; and
Green Diamond Resource Company biologist, Lowell Diller will speak about the spotted owl on Saturday morning.

It has been six years since our club has hosted this event. If I haven't contacted you yet to volunteer, I will in the
near future. We still need help at the registration table and the Ways & Means table. Thanks to Haline Sundett
and Linda Jonckhere for volunteering for registration and Vee Sorenson for providing the Half-Notes for our ban-
quet entertainment. Please plan on attending this important event.

Major Announcement from Move America Forward

CFRW Executive Committee supports this movement and hopes every club in the Federation will consider
helping and attending when it comes to their Community.
We have some exceptional news to report - read on for details...As you already know, Move America Forward is
about to launch a major advertising campaign to rally support for our troops in Iraq. For the past several weeks we
have informed you that we were putting together a grassroots component to support this effort.
We have learned that anti-war protestors have been desecrating war memorials and in some isolated instances
publicly denouncing/insulting returning Iraqi war veterans. On Saturday, March 17th, the 4th anniversary of
Operation Iraqi Freedom, Cindy Sheehan, Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark will lead a giant anti-war protest in
Washington, D.C. - disgracing the war memorials there as they march to the Pentagon. A massive anti-war crowd is
expected.
Move America Forward www.MoveAmericaForward.org is proud to announce that we will be fighting back
against all this negativity and disrespect towards our troops with a positive and patriotic national effort titled:
"THESE COLORS DON'T RUN". MAF will lead a national caravan of vehicles and supporters from California
across the nation to Washington, D.C. Heading up the caravan will be Gold Star Parents who lost a child in the war
on terrorism, Blue Star Parents who have a son/daughter serving in the war effort, or veterans of Operation Iraqi
Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
We are putting out the word to all Americans to join us for this national show of support for our troops - and at
each stop along the way conducting a patriotic pro-troop rally where we will be collecting American flags from rally
participants.
We are calling on the school children of America to make homemade flags and for those who can knit or sew to
make homemade flags to be brought to these rallies. We are asking families to bring a flag that has sentimental
value or a patriotic story behind it to these rallies or simply buy a flag and bring it to the rally so we can add it to this
special collection of flags heading for the big Washington, D.C. event! At each rally we will collect the flags and
transport them to the caravan trucks and bring them to Washington, D.C. where we will surround these war memo-
rials in a giant sea of red, white and blue - and where we will conduct our final and largest pro-troop rally in Wash-
ington, D.C. - on March 17, 2006 - opposite the major anti war protest.
When the rally is completed each and every flag donated to the effort will be sent to a unit serving in Iraq or
Afghanistan with a placard explaining the story behind the national effort that brought this flag of support from the
United States to our troops fighting the war on terrorism. This will be one of the most ambitious efforts we have ever
undertaken at Move America Forward. We will need your support for this positive, uplifting and patriotic event.
In the coming days we will be reaching out to coordinate our efforts and offering our support to such fine
organizations as “Free Republic”, “Vets for Truth” and the "Gathering of Eagles " projects, along with participating
veterans groups to make sure that there is a vibrant and patriotic effort from coast to coast. We will be posting our
planned route and stops at the Move America Forward website: www.MoveAmericaForward.org
Check your emails and the MAF website for more specifics on this national caravan and for information on how
you can join this historic event in your own vehicle. We'll have additional information on our pro-troop rallies and
helpful suggestions on how you can contribute a flag to this historic event. Thank you for your support of the men
and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families - they need our backing now more than ever!
Fondly, Melanie Morgan Chairman, Move America Forward P.S. Forward this message on to others to help
spread the word about this patriotic effort!

Chaplain's Message submitted by Bill Odonnell, Jr.

Down With People by Carl Wieland
The extreme wing of environmentalism is the animal rights movement. Their leading advocate, Princeton professor
Peter Singer, is a fanatical (but wholly consistent) evolutionist. He says, „There is no ethical basis for elevating
membership of one particular species into a morally crucial characteristic. From an ethical point of view, we all stand
on equal footing–whether we stand on two feet, four feet, or none at all.‟

In practice, however, animal-righter's usually regard man as lower than the animals. After the Valdez oil spill which
killed 30,000 birds (about 0.1% of the area‟s population), some called it a worse tragedy than the 1984 chemical leak
in Bhopal, India. But this killed more than 3,000 people and injured 200,000 others.8 Many animal liberationists have
said it is acceptable to use „defective‟ humans in scientific tests as opposed to testing things on healthy animals.

This is violently opposed to Biblical reality. Man made in the image of God, no matter if unborn, frail or retarded, has
intrinsic rights not shared by animals. The Lord Jesus Christ said, „You are of more value than many sparrows‟ (Luke
12:7). Of course, the Bible gives no mandate for cruelty to animals; Proverbs 12:10 teaches that a righteous person
will regard their needs. (Reprinted by permission of AnswersInGenesis.org)

Americanism Chris Wennerholm

Tokyo Rose Alive and Well...During World War II, the Japanese developed a way to demoralize the American forces.
Psychological warfare experts developed a message they felt would work. They gave the script to their famous broad-
caster, "Tokyo Rose," who played the best American music on her station to attract the troops, and every day she would
broadcast this same message packaged in different ways, hoping it would have a negative impact on American GI's
morale.

What was that demoralizing message? It had three main points:

1. Your President is lying to you.; 2. This war is illegal.; 3. You cannot win the war. Does this sound familiar?

Is it because Tokyo Hillary, Tokyo Harry, Tokyo John, Tokyo Teddy,Tokyo Nancy, etc. are broadcasting the same
message on Tokyo CNN, Tokyo ABC, Tokyo CBS, Tokyo NBC, etc., to our troops? The only difference is that they claim
to support our troops before they demoralize them. Come to think of it, Tokyo Rose told the troops she was on their
side, too.
The Republican and the Democrat
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man below. She shouted
down to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I
am." The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a
ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude, and 100 degrees,
49.09 minutes west longitude."

She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican." "I am," replied the man, "but how did you know?" "Well,"
answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your
information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you haven't been much help to me." The man smiled and responded, "You must
be a Democrat." "I am," replied the woman, "but how did you know?" "Well," said the man, "you don't know where you
are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you
have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in
before we met, but, somehow, now it's my fault."

Let Them Eat Cake--make that Crow by Colleen Hedrick

Recent news has been like a buffet with few menu highlights and an over abundance of stuff and nonsense only fit to
send us looking for Tums or straight for the barf bags.

On the gourmet side we have Nancy Flemming's new post as Rio Dell's City Manager. Nancy likes to work and she
wants that work to be in community service. The posiition should offer the challenge and due diligence role she
needs. On the city's side her experience as a business woman and as Eureka's mayor will provide the ability to work well
to benefit Rio Dell. It also doesn't hurt that she definitely proved her grit and drive by coming in less than 200-votes shy
of upsetting an incumbent who has been dug in at the court house so long that she pulled a $25,000 Indian casino vote
of confidence. It has yet to be explained what you get for $25,000 amd a lot of us would love to know?

Congressional Democrats continue to befuddle a big portion of the populace with their posturing as generals ready to
micro manage the Iraq war. There's a whole passel of senators and representatives falling over themselves to serve as
generals. Who knew that so many of them had taken the time to graduate from West Point?

It will be interesting to see campaign insults and innuendo play out between Hillary and Obama in the months to come.
The Dragon Lady will have him sliced paper thin and served on Ry-Krisp. His 18-month senate platitudes won't get him
out of the kitchen let alone in the White House even if he does think he's a Lincoln facsimile.

On the brighter side again I recently came across an online site called sunshinefoundation.com. Use it to check how
members of congress voted or how they don't vote because they are cavorting about the country chasing a nomination
for 2008. It would be refreshing to see it occur to someone that if they don't intend to show up for work they should re-
sign and stop collecting a paycheck for not doing their job.

Education Update by Sheryl Fearrien
The (liberal) social progressives are at it again. I suppose it is to be expected. They certainly have a different agenda
for this state and nation than the rest of us normal citizens do!
It seems the bunch in Berkeley think it is their prerogative to reeducate our children. They have put together a book,
supposedly an alternative history source, to teach students that there is never a good reason to go to war. They contend
that the real purpose of wars in which the United States finds itself engaged is to increase profits for the industrial-
military machine. (Sounds like a throwback to the drug induced mind numbing 60s! ) If this isn't stopped, we can expect
the next generation of students to cringe anytime a possibility of using military force is mentioned. Apparently the
"freedom fighters" (PC for terrorists) will just go away peacefully if we extend our hand of friendship! Fat chance!!! This is
probably the scariest time in history to be alive. At least during past wars, the bulk of the U.S. citizens supported their
president and country and had a clear vision of right and wrong. And herein lies the problem...social progressives don't
see good vs. evil in any situation except in "Bush is Evil!" Please pray for us. We need all the help we can get!
What can you do???? Check your children and grandchildren's history books. I guarantee you won't be happy with
everything. Take the time to educate your child's teacher. Let he/she know you don't agree with the way history has
become warped in many history texts. And TALK to your child and let them know that they don't have to believe
everything just because it is in a book or a teacher said it!
