SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

YAYASAN SULTAN ISKANDAR JOHOR is an institution established with the main

objective of creating and maintaining a fund to be used not only for scientific & charitable
purposes but also for promoting educational excellence among Malaysians. The Yayasan
invites scholarship applications from suitably qualified young Malaysians (especially Johor-
born) who have successfully completed their 1st degree and planning to pursue a post-
graduate course on a full-time basis at any recognised public universities.

Doctors who are already specialist in their fields are also invited to pursue 1 to 2 years sub-
specialist course conducted by local medical schools.

An attractive scholarship allowance covering living expenses and tuition fees will be
provided by the YAYASAN SULTAN ISKANDAR JOHOR.

FIELDS OF STUDY

Engineering, Medicine, Information & Communication Technology, Accountancy and

Social Science.

VALUE OF AWARD

 Tuition fees based on actual for students pursuing studies at local universities.

 A reasonable living/subsistence allowance will be provided.

A bond is attached to the scholarship, where the recipient may be required to serve the
government or any academic higher institution of learning designated by the Trustees of the
Yayasan Sultan Iskandar Johor.
 SELECTION CRITERIA

 Should be below 40 years of age.

 Must have obtained at least a 2nd class upper degree.
 Must have obtained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 3.50 for 1 st
degree programme.
 Must have proof of financial need.
 Applicant must write a short 1 page essay (on a separate sheet of paper) describing
reasons for applying the scholarship, benefit from the course of study including
education and career plans.
 Preference will be given to those active in co-curricular activities.
 Not receiving scholarship/loan/financial assistance from any other organisation.

Request for form by mail must be accompanied with a 50 sen stamped, self-addressed
envelope measuring 16cm x 23cm, to the following address:

Completed application forms (do not send copies of relevant certificates and documents),
must reach the above address not later than 21 March 2005. Only short-listed candidates
will be informed and called for interview. Ineligible candidates or those whose application
are incomplete or received after the due date will not be considered for the scholarship.
