DE- Introduction Figure 1 te VGB B 101 is not ordered on the "right" level. VGB B 101 should be on the same level as
01 ISO/TS 16952-10.
See Annex 1
DE- 6.3.1 Figure 11 te Figure 11, section 3 states: Figure 11 should be changed to:
02 „Classification of technical equipment „Classification of technical object
according to IEC/PAS 62400“. according to IEC/PAS 62400“
for section 3
In Figures 17 and 18 it is stated in the comparable
position: and
„Classification of technical object
according to IEC/PAS 62400“. “Numbering of technical objects”
for section 4
CH- 6.3.2.2 Fig. 12 te Without referring to an equipment, it is hard to sensitise The control task shall follow a technical equipment

03 excludes visually a nested reference designation of the down level 2. (nested reference designation of the
equipment. equipment)
See Annex 2
DE- 6.4.2 te This clause/paragraph fits better in clause 6.4.1. The text should be integrated in clause 6.4.1 as a
04 2nd paragraph. This gives a better connection to
Figure 14.

DE- 6.4.3 te The use of the term "component" here is not in line with The term "equipment" should be used.
05 the definition C.16 in ISO/TS 16952-1: See Annex 3
„industrial product which serves a specific function or
functions, which is not decomposable or physically
divisible and which is intended for use in a higher order
assembled product [IEC 61360-1]"

DE- 6.4.3 te This clause specifies the most important designation – A more detailed presentation is required.
06 because it is complete – of the power plant technology.
However, it is not described detailed enough. See Annex 3
DE- 6.4.3 te For this clause, tables are missing for the letters codes for Tables should be inserted from VGB B101 and
07 the break down level 1 (systems in accordance with VGB IEC/PAS 62400 and completed with a figure.
B101) and the break down level 2 (technical objects in
accordance with IEC/PAS 62400). See Annex 4

1. The first letter of the system key VGB B101 is the

elementary basis in the power plant technology, in
particular for the application of the reference designation
system. It contributes fundamentally to the understanding
of the power plant structure at the topmost system level. It
also promotes the acceptance by recognition.
2. The first letter from the IEC/PAS 62400 is worldwide
obligatory for all technical sectors. For the power plant
technology this first letter is new compared with previous
classification letters. Recognition cannot be expected
(possible acceptance disadvantage). The advantage lies
in finding these letters already stipulated in the sector
specific standard.
CH- 6.5.1.3 Title te Is it system-oriented or function-oriented? If it is function-oriented please correct the prefix to

6.4 Product aspect

6.4.1 Designation Block "Product"

This designation block is used for product-oriented designation of electrical and mechanical objects; see
Fig.14.
If an object is to be further structured in its parts, the "nested product-oriented designation" shall be
applied, where several blocks are concatenated in the sense of the multi-level reference designation.
The prefix shall be placed in front of the first designation block only (example see Figure D.6).

used to consider in succession following objects according to different aspects – function and
product aspect. The structure of such designation block is shown in Figure 15.
