New Euro 4-compliant, particulate filter-equipped Diesel engines, two

limited editions for the Laguna range and a limited edition Scénic and
Grand Scénic, all available in France from the end of 2005

Renault is to release two new Diesel powerplants in France, for the Scénic and Laguna
ranges. These new engines include a new 2.0 dCi featuring all the latest Diesel technologies.
A particulate filter is fitted as standard on the 1.9 dCi, 2.2 dCi Auto and 2.0 dCi 175hp units.
The complete range of petrol and Diesel engines complies with the Euro 4 emission
legislation which comes into force on January 1, 2006. The two new limited editions for the
Laguna range – Confort Carminat and Luxe Carminat – are equipped with a navigation
system, while the Latitude limited edition Scénic and Grand Scénic feature a panoramic
glass roof.

 New-generation Diesel engine

A renewed range of all Euro 4-compliant Renault engines is to go on sale in France at the end of
2005, including the latest addition to the brand's engine line-up, the Renault-Nissan Alliance-
developed 2.0 dCi.
The first Renault vehicle to be powered by this new 1995cc engine (codenamed M9R) is Laguna
2.0 dCi which will initially be available in 150hp form (M9Ra). The particulate filter-equipped 175hp
version (M9Rb) will be introduced in the first quarter of 2006.

This new engine is packed with the very latest Diesel power technology, including 1,600-bar
common rail injection, piezoelectric injectors and a variable geometry turbocharger. It is paired
with a new, six-speed manual gearbox (PK4).

Beginning with Scénic and Grand Scénic, all Mégane body types will be available with the 150hp
version of this new powerplant from January 2006.
The 2.0 dCi engine will be available for other vehicles of the Renault range in the course of 2006.

This new 2.0 dCi engine features the best power/fuel consumption/CO2 emission ratio. In the case
of New Mégane, fuel consumption is 5.4l/100km (combined cycle), while CO2 emissions do not
exceed 144g/km. In its 150hp form, the combined cycle fuel consumption of Laguna Hatchback is
5.8l/100km, equivalent to 154g of CO2/km. In the case of Laguna Hatchback 2.0 dCi 175hp, the
same figures are a similarly low 6.0l/100km and 159g/km respectively.

 A particulate filter for the 1.9 dCi and 2.2 dCi engines
The Euro 4-compliant 1.9 dCi, which can be ordered for Mégane, Scénic and Laguna with either
manual or automatic transmission, now comes with a periodic-regeneration particulate filter. This
engine is available in a range of power outputs. In the case of Scénic, Grand Scénic and Laguna,
its power output is 125hp. It is also available in 95hp (without particulate filter), 110hp and 115hp
Auto forms for Laguna.
In the case of New Mégane, the power output of the 1.9 dCi engine is 130hp.
The 2.2 dCi 140hp Auto is also available for Laguna equipped with a particulate filter.

 Laguna GT combines a sports chassis and Diesel power

Currently available with the 2.0 T 205hp petrol engine, the sportiest version of Laguna – Laguna
GT – will soon also be available with the 2.0 dCi 175hp engine.

 Carminat limited editions

Two limited editions have been added to the Laguna range: Confort Carminat and Luxe Carminat.

Based on the Confort Expression version (without side sunblinds), and for an extra cost of €300,
Laguna Confort Carminat features the new second-generation Carminat Navigation System, a
Cabasse 4x30W radio/CD player with MP3 playback, dark charcoal fabric upholstery and
Primastella wheel trims. The saving for the customer is 5%.
The second-generation Carminat Navigation System replaces the former Carminat system
fitted to the Laguna range and is also available for the New Mégane range. It features a more

user-friendly colour screen and a single keypad for both the navigation system and radio.
Navigation is also more reactive, thanks to a memory of 128MB, and more precise too with the
availability of additional spoken instructions at intersections. The range of map scales now
extends from 100m to 1,000km, while the system interacts in real time with incoming traffic
information.

Based on Laguna Luxe Privilège, the limited edition Luxe Carminat is available for an extra cost
of €750 with the Carminat Navigation and Communication system, part leather/Alcantara
upholstery and 16-inch Villegia wheels. The saving for the customer amounts to 7.8%.
Introduced at the same time as the launch of New Laguna, the Carminat Navigation and
Communication system continues to stand out as one of the market's foremost navigation
systems, thanks notably to its calculation speed. The system comprises a 6½-inch, 16/9 wide
®
screen with "Birdview" panoramic display (3D), Bluetooth hands-free telephone operation and
voice recognition to handle navigation and telephone voice commands.

 Limited edition Scénic and Grand Scénic Latitude

Renault has released a limited edition version of Scénic and Grand Scénic known as Latitude.
Available as standard equipment on the Alyum limited edition Espace, the panoramic glass roof
adds even more appeal to the cabin ambience of Scénic and Grand Scénic Latitude. Its deep-
tinted glass and roller sunblinds ensure enhanced thermal protection in all conditions.
The limited edition Latitude is recognizable from the outside by its Caraïbes wheel trims and,
coming soon, two new body colours: Steel Grey and Poivre Beige. Existing body colours are also
available.
Inside, the exclusive seat upholstery features a central Lokani fabric strip, while the glove box lid
comes with special Latitude trimming.
