Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Relationships die from neglect or harsh criticism. They need at least five positive to every one negative
interaction. Be light and salt in your family by saying that kind word with a note or flowers. Go the
extra mile in helping with family chores. Give encouragement rather than criticism. Let those you love
hear and see that love! Do not neglect your own.

379 Holy Hour Adorers spent time with our Lord in Eucharistic Adoration that past week. Additional adorers are
needed for the following days: Tuesday 2-3am, Friday 8-9pm Saturday 12 (noon)-1pm and 8-9pm. Anyone
interested in spending a little one on one with our Lord, please contact Judy at 330-212-0926.

Barberton Area Community Ministries item for the Month of February is Canned Meat; tuna, beef
stew or others. Please bring your donations when you come to Mass, together we can help those less
fortunate, a box has been placed in the vestibule for donations. Items will be delivered to BACM on
Monday.

The next Coffee and Donuts will be Sunday, February 6, following the 9:00 and 11:00 Masses. Hosts will
be Donna Houk, Marge Hreha, Cindy Cook and the Boy Scouts.

GENERATIONS OF FAITH – Join us on the Journey, Thursday, March 3 as we discover


Why we go to Mass. Registration forms are available on the bookrack. Sessions will be held at
Immaculate Conception Waldeisen Hall from 6-9pm, all are welcome to attend. Enjoy a meal from 6-

A very special thank you is extended to all who participated in Grandma’s Dinner last weekend. The meal
was absolutely wonderful, fellowship was all around with the opportunity to meet and greet the 2011 RCIA
Candidates. Thank you to The King Family, Betty Bartel and the extraordinary crew of worker bees, as
well as to the bakers of cookies and pies, delicious! What a powerful display of stewardship!

Pre-Cana days are offered on the following Sundays in 2011 February 20, March 13, April 3, May 15,
June 12, July 10, August 7, September 11 and October 9. The day will begin at 1:00 pm and conclude
at 7:00 pm. Classes are presented by Paul and Kathy Weber. The cost is $75.00 per couple, dinner

Early Childhood Religion Class has immediate openings for toddler’s potty trained to

Alyssa Owens, Ariel Linberger, Margaret Morber, Kathyrn Ebner and Lauren Brabson, who represented
Saint Augustine School in the district Power of the Pen tournament held January 8 at St. Vincent-St.
Mary High School. Angelina, Margaret and Kathryn earned the privilege of advancing to the regional
tournament to be held on February 26 at Kent State University. Congratulations girls.

Anyone wishing to have a child baptized at Saint Augustine Church must attend one pre-baptism class.
Classes will be held April 19 and October 18 at Immaculate Conception, or July 26 at Saint Augustine.

The eight grade class would like to take this opportunity to thank you for donations given in raising

Congratulations to the Varsity Cheerleaders: Marissa Russo, Ashley Kozer, Katrina Thomas, Cheyenne
Barnett and Madison Burkhard, Christina Faessel, Kathryn Ebner, Skylar Nicholson, Rachel Krajcovic and
Hannah Sample, who won a second place trophy at the CYO Cheerleading Competition held on January
15 at Our Lady of the Elms. Ten squads competed. Great Job Ladies!

NFP Class for Married and Engaged Couples


You are invited to attend a series of classes on Natural Family Planning taught by the Couple to Couple
League to learn a method that is safe, highly effective, and morally acceptable. The series will be held at
Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Wadsworth and the first class starts on Saturday, Feb. 19th. Class will
be from 4 - 6:30 p.m. and will be located in the Andes Room in the church's lower level. To register, go

Spotlight on…… Elizabeth Ministry


Everyone loves newborn babies. Here at St. Augustine Church we welcome the
new little ones to our faith community by providing meals for the family as well as a gift
basket when the child is baptized. This is all possible with volunteers from the Elizabeth
Ministry. Anyone interested in becoming involved by making a meal or donating new
baby items (handmade or purchased), please contact Carolyn King at 330-658-5805 and welcome the
littlest members to our parish family.

Larry Vuillemin, Co-founder of Heart to Heart Communications, will speak on the topic, “Taking Your
Faith to Work” at the next gathering, Tuesday, January 4, 7:00 p.m., at Blessed Trinity Church (formerly
St. Martha) in Akron. Following Larry's presentation, there will be an opportunity for small group
discussion, including time for further conversation with him. Everyone is welcome!
