Chutes and Ladders

Place Value Edition

tens and ones, odd and even, and

comparing two digit numbers

You will need a “Chutes and Ladders” board

game, the game cards which are included in

this document, and the optional student

recording page which is also in this document.

For greater stability, copy the game cards

on cardstock then laminate them.

This game can be used as a review for place

value (tens and ones), odd and even numbers,

and comparing numbers with two digits.

You can also use simple math manipulatives

(different colored tiles, cubes, or counters)

instead of the game pieces (kids) that are

intended for the original game.

Instructions:

1. Set up the game board.

2. Place the cards in a stack face down.

3. Take turns using the spinner.

4. After you spin, move your game piece.

5. Look at your number on the game board.

6. Pick up a card, and read the question.

7. Answer the question, and write it on

your recording page.

8. Take turns using the spinner and cards.

9. Play until someone reaches “100.”

10. Then start a new game!
