2. Introduction
3.2.1.1. Update and Unlink Plan Design Using the Plan Design
Wizard (HR_FP J)
The Health and Welfare business area of the Plan Design Wizard makes it
easy to set up benefits plans and programs. Prior to Family Pack J, you could
only set up a plan design for the first time through the Wizard. Now, you can
update and partially delete the plan design of health and welfare plans and
programs through the Wizard.
From the Health and Welfare business area, you can update compensation
objects and entities that exist in the database. You can also unlink child
records from their parent records. For example, you can unlink a plan from a
program. Unlinking child records do not delete the child record from the
system, but only severs the link between the child and the parent record.
This feature was first released in Oracle Human Resources Family Pack J.
In addition, users can now query all enrollment results valid for overriding.
Previously, the Overrides window only displayed the most recently closed life
event. The application now displays records for all valid life events, where
before it only displayed records for the current life event.
Previously, you could not enter data for all the defined, communicated, and
annual value fields. You can now enter values for one or more of these fields,
depending on the plan design setup.
Caution: With this change, all fields will be available for update. It is the
administrator’s responsibility to ensure that all the rates are corrected. This
applies to current and past enrollments. In addition, when you override a rate,
the application does not validate the rate periodization.
Finally, you can unsuspend (complete the action items) on enrollments
attached to previous events.
This feature was first released in Oracle Human Resources Family Pack J.
3.2.1.8. Coordinate Rate and Element Start Dates for Pay checks
that Begin in New Year (HR_FP J)
If you set up a payroll with check offset dates (positive) that may result in the
payroll ending in one plan year and the check date occurring in the next plan
year, you can now start the rate so that it starts on or after the event date.
For example, if the check offset date is 5 days and the payroll is monthly, the
first check in the new 2005 plan year will be Jan 5th 2005 for the payroll
ended 31-DEC-2004. Therefore, the rate needs to start before 31-DEC-04 to
appear on the first paycheck.
This feature was first released in Oracle Human Resources Family Pack J.
You can now display a printable page button so that users can print a
summary statement of their benefits enrollment, along with their Signature, to
have as a proof for their records or to submit to an HR Representative if
required. The Confirmation Statement page of the Benefit Enrollment flow
now displays the summary of a participant’s benefits enrollment along with
any warning messages, oversights, or miscalculations the participant may
have made during the enrollment.

temporary data that it uses to update and eventually create the grade ladder.
Once you have created the grade ladder, the application moves the data to the
Benefits HR table and you no longer require the temporary data.
