wins Handicap Singles
MITCHELL Pfingst became the youngest bowler ever
to win a club singles final when he narrowly defeated
veteran Ross Browning on Sunday.
Even though Mitch had a big handicap advantage,
he played very good bowls to hold on. After leading
29-21 Mitch looked an easy winner but Ross, as
usual, dug deep to get to 28-30 behind and was
holding two shots when Mitch put one right on the
kitty to win 31-28.
In another very good and close B Singles, Col
Pfingst and Gary Whitfield went head to head all the
way, being 26-all after 28 ends then 30-all after 35
ends. Col drew shot with his last bowl to win 31-30.
In social bowls, Loretta, John and Brad defeated
Tracey, Will and Trevor 20-12 while Judy, Julie and
Ville defeated Peter, Roy and Roland 23-7.
Next week’s bowls: Publicans Day will be held on
