BY C OLLEEN H EDRICK
William F. Barnum I hear from many people that these are
times that are troubling and everyday
seems to add still more causes for
great concern. Those
circumstances readily lend themselves
to frequent feelings of worry and
frustration since there is no ready
solution.
We call state and national politicians,
send emails and letters, sign petitions,
register voters, join the TEA Party
marchers, and if we are surprisingly
lucky, get a letter to the editor
printed. Essentially, the resource we
have is a show of numbers and our
most valuable asset is bulldog
persistence. Do not give up.

“There is a kind of victory in good work, no matter how humble”.
Jack Kemp
“A person was never honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he has given.”
Calvin Coolidge
FROM JAY LENO:
“Before she left for China, reporters repeatedly questions House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about her claim that
the CIA lied to her, but Pelosi remained tight-lipped,.....she also remained tight foreheaded and tight eye
lidded.”
“Yesterday during a speech, Speaker Pelosi said that the CIA misleads us all the time...unlike Congress”.

EXCERPTS FROM THE DESK OF JUDY KING:

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both Democrats and Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have
deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have
inflation and high taxes?
You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional
authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine supreme Court justices...545 human
beings out of the 3000 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic
problems that plague this country. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that
what they did is not their fault.

Why didn’t the Pharisees acknowledge who Jesus was? They were educated, smart guys. They certainly
knew the law and all of the prophecies of a coming Messiah. So why didn’t they accept him with joy?
It was because of the walls of self-importance they had built around themselves. They had their own
“team” established and had allowed walls as hard as brick to become secured around their hearts.
They were like the two men stranded in the middle of the ocean on a raft. One kept pointing to the other
saying, “Man, you are lost.” Neither the Pharisees nor the accusing lost man on the raft ever realized they
could accomplish more if on the same team.
One common struggle for the ideals of the Republican Party should not be hindered by
walls. Cooperation, caring for one another and working together should always define our team.
