You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional
authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine supreme Court justices...545 human
beings out of the 3000 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic
problems that plague this country. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that
what they did is not their fault.

California Legislation by Vee Sorenson

An Initiative to strike
Proposition 8 now qualifies for
circulation. We must be watchful,
wait and see if this Initiative will
qualify. The proponents have
until August 17 to gather more
than 640,000 signatures so it may
be placed on the November 2010
ballot. In trying to remedy the
man-women definition of
marriage from the State
Constitution, it would address two
important concerns that helped
cause its defeat.
(1) It would not affect school
curriculum. (2) It should not be
interpreted to require clergy
performances of services
inconsistent with their faith.
The problem with the two
provisions listed above: Schools
would still have an obligation to
discuss the subject when it comes
up in a classroom.
Also, the courts are sure to
interpret the Initiative to mean
clergy are not required to perform
same sex marriages, yet religious
adoption agencies, fertility
doctors and others would be
impacted if it passes.

Some have suggested the
government needs to declare the
State insolvent, get rid of all
special interest payoffs (union
contracts), declare a fiscal
emergency, waive prevailing
wages, PLA’s and laws passed to
make Al Gore worth more
millions. Our deficit has grown
because of tax increases.
Obviously, Democrats are not
serious about stopping the fiscal
meltdown. The increases in taxes
have resulted in lower
revenues. Duh ! They have been
going down every month.
We must get rid of regulations
killing jobs. Our elected officials
have legislated billions of new tax
increases although voters at
almost 2 to 1 said no to new
taxes. Democrats need a lesson in
democracy.
The middle class and poor have
gone from employed to
unemployment. There has been
an exodus of productive citizens
from the State. Democrats favor
unions instead of quality
education, health care for illegals
while the elderly and poor pay.
Do they blame themselves? No-
- still blaming Prop 13. Had this
not passed years ago, middle and
upper middle income families
would have lost their homes and
properties. This would have
pleased the left who have ruled in
Sacramento for years. That would
have meant most of us living
in government housing and more
under their control. Their
socialist agenda seems clear.

Why didn’t the Pharisees acknowledge who Jesus was? They were educated, smart guys. They certainly
knew the law and all of the prophecies of a coming Messiah. So why didn’t they accept him with joy?
It was because of the walls of self-importance they had built around themselves. They had their own
“team” established and had allowed walls as hard as brick to become secured around their hearts.
They were like the two men stranded in the middle of the ocean on a raft. One kept pointing to the other
saying, “Man, you are lost.” Neither the Pharisees nor the accusing lost man on the raft ever realized they
could accomplish more if on the same team.
One common struggle for the ideals of the Republican Party should not be hindered by
walls. Cooperation, caring for one another and working together should always define our team.

• Offended the Queen of England.
• Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia.
• Praised the Marxist Daniel Ortega.
• Kissed Hugo Chavez on the cheek.
• Endorsed the Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia.
• Announced we would meet with Iranians with no pre-conditions.
• Gave away billions to AIG, also without pre-conditions.
• Expanded the bailouts.
• Insulted everyone who has ever loved a Special Olympian.
• Doubled our national debt (quadrupled since then).
• Announced a termination of the space defense system the day after the North Koreans launched an ICBM.
• Despite the urgings of his own CIA director and the prior 4 CIA directors, released information on intelligence gathering.
• Accepted without public comment the fact that five of his cabinet members cheated on their taxes and two oth-
ers withdrew after they couldn't take the heat.
• Appointed a Homeland Security Chief who quickly identified as "dangers to the nation", groups including veterans of
the military, and opponents to abortion on demand, and who ordered that the word "terrorism" no longer be used, but
instead referred to such acts as "man-made disasters". (This administration deserves that title.)
• Circled the globe so he could openly apologize for America's greatness.
• Told Mexicans the violence in their country was our fault.
• Politicized the census by moving it into the White House from its Department of Commerce origins.
• Appointed as Attorney General the man who orchestrated the forced removal and expulsion from America to Cuba of a
nine-year old whose mother died trying to bring him to a life of freedom in the United States.
• Salutes as heroes three Navy SEALS who took down three terrorists who threatened one American life and the next day
announces members of the Bush administration will likely stand trial for "torturing" a terrorist who played a part in kill-
ing 3000 Americans by pouring water up his nose.
• Flew Air Force One over New York City causing panic at a cost of $400,000 to get a photo you can make with Photo
Shop for less than a dollar.
Sent his National Defense Advisor to Europe to assure Europe that the US will no longer treat Israel in a special manner
and they might be on their own with the Muslims.
Began the process of nationalizing the Auto Industry and the Insurance industry (and didn't stop there).
Announced that, for all intents and purposes, the Health Insurance Industry will be nationalized (despite all negative in-
put).
[Is there anything lower than an 'F'??...and his 2nd 100 days were even worse.]

Are These People Arlen Specter Understudies?

Eight Republican members of the
House of Representatives voted
“Aye” on a miserable Cap and
Trade encyclopedia-sized bill that
had another 300-plus pages added
on in the wee hours of the
morning. Two more Republican
representatives weren’t enough
concerned to show up to vote.
Cap and Trade has enough
miserable drawbacks for every
business and every household to
make any thinking person take
inventory on how many ways
there are to say, “Nay.” Seems
reasonable to figure that should
include, “Hell no!”
Unless your purposes would be to
encourage businesses to move to
China or India due to those
nation’s lack of Cap and Trade
regulations, or want most goods
and services to cost the citizenry
more, and had determined to
make it harder for homeowners to
sell their houses.
At a time when we most need
Republicans in Congress to hold
fast and vote against legislation
that destroys everything we are
supposed to stand for , it seems
realistic to do our best to summon
these representatives to account.
Let’s call and email the following

Representatives and ask them
what they got for a vote that could
sell us into the socialist state of
Obamaland:
