PRESIDENT’S M ESSAGE
A look over our shoulder
As we approach the end of the year it is
time to take a look at where we have
been for 2009 and a look forward to our
HAPPY THANKSGIVING & next newsletter in January 2010. Most
of our goals for 2009 were met and one
way and another we cut a pretty wide

path. Eleven meetings will have been
held, we did a lot of community out-
reach and drew a share of the hoped for
publicity for our efforts. On this topic
helping the community is our first goal

but the additional purpose is to estab-
lish our identity in the community as a
caring, productive element in our com-

munity. Remember the stereotype im-
age of the Republican woman is a rich
woman with at least one fur coat, a
limo, and a snooty face. We are a
widely diversified group but one thing
is for sure we are not afraid of work.
Monday, December 7, 2009 Our work for 2009 produced 11 news-
letters, 11 well attended programs,

seems likely to make some projects
easier this coming year. Hopefully that
will enable us to have an even more
productive 2010. Part of what’s impor-
tant in all this is that we also learned
from our programs, gained friendships,
and had fun. There are big challenges
for 2010. Let’s remember: When

California Legislation by Vee Sorenson

The State of California is killing the economy and stifling job creation. How? Recently $2.05
billion was taken by the state that could have created 198,000 full and part time jobs. We are made to think
our state is running out of money, but we are a rich state. The misappropriation of tax dollars is the real
culprit. We pay billions in taxes, but it is never enough for those at the political trough in
Sacramento. Those elected and living off taxpayers don’t seem to care and spend as though they prefer a
Depression and no growth in jobs

Rep. Bilbray, R-Solana Beach and chairman of the Immigration Reform Caucus, said recently,
“Historically we’ve asked about citizenship on the long form of the census questionnaire. There is no
reason we can’t be asking in the short form.”
The bigger concern is the lack of Feds enforcing the current immigration laws. Census takers ask
about the number of TV’s and bathrooms in your house, so why not ask if you are here
legally? Apparently the Democrats are afraid of an honest Census.

Robbers use guns to steal. Government uses fraud against people and companies to steal. In
Contra Costa, the government used the Assessors office to get between $50-$100 million extra from
Chevron. This is not a technical mistake, this is corruption.
Wonder what other firms have values added to their property so government could have more
money?
This is a scandal being treated as an administrative action. Time for real investigator to find the
thieves.
(From Stephen Frank’s California Political News and Views)
How many of you want to bet money that investigators will investigate?

POLITICS CAUSE CALIFORNIA’S

WATER PROBLEMS
Observations by Bill Leonard, Board of Equalization
My calculation is that I have flown between Sacramento and Ontario over 2500 times in the last
31 years, and every time, I try to get a window seat so I can peer out and check the reservoir levels in
California’s stored water. What I see lately does not square with the press about water. The reservoirs are
not empty. In fact, a surprising number are full to exactly the average level for all years, wet and dry. New
Bullards Bar and Don Pedro are 100% of average, for this time of year. The driest reservoir is San Luis,
which is storage for the state water project and is the least dependent on rain of any dam in the state. It is
dependent on politics and politics have put the storage at 42 % of average. This is a tragedy equivalent to
letting your fire insurance on your home lapse.

C HAPLAIN ’ S C ORNER BY V EE S ORENSON

After I write the Legislative Report, it is good to turn my thoughts to spiritual things. News from our
nation’s capitol and Sacramento often leave me depressed. When I turn to words of hope from the bible,
things become clearer and not so depressing.
Proverbs 13:12 says a “hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.”
That gives me hope that the longings and prayers of many Americans can be fulfilled and answered
if we remain vigilant and look upward for solutions to our nation’s problems. The bible if filled with truths
and those who depend on its teachings need not remain depressed. Many Psalms are soothing to the soul.
Things may seem unfair now. I have many people complain to me about our elected officials who
are getting by with corruption. I respond by reminding them that those who take away our freedoms and
rule dishonestly must someday face a higher judge.
Cheer up. We win in the end.

Education Report by Sheryl Fearrien

Although times are discouraging in the financial and moral fiber of our great nation, take heart.
Obamanation should be over in three more years. By then the half of America that brought this plague onto
us will have come to their senses and vote this pathetic “empty (intellectually and morally) shirt” out of
office, along with the criminals, fanatic-America-hating bigots, and terrorists he has installed without Senate
or public vetting. Look to gain many seats in next year’s Congressional and Senatorial elections. In the
meantime, talk common sense to everyone you encounter and stay strong.

Cleaning up the White House has come to be the Republicans’ job. This next time, the mess will be so
widespread and entrenched it will make cleaning up the Clinton White House look like a one-day job for
Merry Maids. When Obama leaves, we will need heavy equipment and some highly skilled people to
unravel the mess of legislation imposed upon us. There will suffer casualties in the meantime if their
‘healthcare’ bill makes it through the Senate. Rationing will be the treatment of choice and anyone outside
the 18-40 year-old age range will suffer and some will die prematurely. One study said if Obamacare
becomes law, 40% of today’s physicians will retire rather than see their profession be demoted to a low-
level civil servant job. Can you say rationing with a capital R?

Take heart! There are a few things we can all do to make the need for medical attention less likely… (1)
get back to a healthy weight. Not fun, but very effective. Cancer, heart disease, stroke, and diabetes would
nosedive to at least 50% of current estimates, (2) get off the coach and exercise, walking being the easiest
and most cost-effective, but do whatever catches your fancy! Exercise is a proven boast to emotional health
as well, (3) turn off the TV and reconnect with family and friends (don’t forget our furry friends who
always accept us with a big slurpy greeting), (4) read a book for fun, listen to your favorite genre of music,
cook up something fun and healthy, take your camera on your next walk and snap that new masterpiece…
just use your imagination and do something each day that brings you pure, unadulterated joy!

We all need to “man-up”, yes ladies, we as well, and develop a thick skin to survive this hideous plague
brought to us by the media-anointed one! The Israelites wandered in the desert for 40 years. Surely we can
endure three more years!

A MERICANISM R EPORT BY C HRIS W ENNERHOLM

CONSERVATIVE VS LIBERAL:
If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn't buy one.
If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of
course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that
provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he's in labor and then sues.
If a conservative reads this, he'll share it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A liberal will be loudly outraged because he's "offended".

FLY THE FLAG: Hope you remembered to fly the flag on 9-11 to honor our country’s veterans and the
many sacrifices they made for us. Thanksgiving is another day when it is appropriate to display the flag, so
please put it on your calendar and fly it with pride.

THAN KSGIVING BY C HRIS W ENNERHOLM

Thanksgiving is a day for family, food, parades and football. It is also a day for giving thanks for all our
blessings. This year, as you give thanks, please remember: those not home with family, those in dangerous
places, those far from home fighting for our country, those who help and comfort, and their families that
wait, watch and pray. We have much to be thankful for.
