No map of irrigated areas in Indonesia was available. Therefore, rice fields were digitized from a
land-use map (scale: 1:2 500 000) [ID03]. In some basins, the area of digitized rice fields was
smaller than the reported irrigated area. In these cases, areas classified as lowland cultivation
and highland cultivation were also incorporated, and wet rice fields were digitized from another
land-use map [ID04].
The distribution of irrigated area by sub-national unit is listed in the table below.
