9. A city has an area 2100 km2 and serving by a cellular system using 7 cell per cluster. The area
each cell is 100 km2. Total allocated frequency is 40 MHz having a channel bandwidth of 30kHz.
Assuming GoS of 3%. Each user has an average call per hour equal to 2 and average call duration
of 3 minutes. Calculate the following:
i. number of duplex channel available
ii. number of channel per cell
iii. number of cluster in a given service area
iv. traffic intensity of each cell and maximum carried traffic
v. total of duplex channel available in service
vi. number of users per channel
vi. number of users that can be supported in service area
10. For digital cellular radio system, a co-channel cell having the following parameters:
f = 900MHz; Transmitted power = 10 dBm; Gain of antenna for radio base station (RBS) = 8 dB;
Height of antenna = 200 m ; Gain of antenna for mobile station (MS) = 2 dB; Height of MS above
ground level = 3 m; radius of cell = 1 km; Medium loss = 20 dB; Distance between co-channel
cell = 8 km.
i.? Assume free space coordination exist between RBS and MS. Determine: co-channel
interference ratio and optimum distance between co-channel cell.
