SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES


The School of Management Studies (SMS), sanctioned by
the UGC, commenced functioning from May, 1999. SMS
offers two-year full-time residential MBA Program, a
unique MBA program in Health Care and Hospital
Management and a Ph.D. program in Management
Studies. It promotes faculty and doctoral research,
consultancy, training, and outreach activities in various
sectors. The faculty members have the distinction of
organizing on-campus seminars, participating in external
seminars, and conducting executive and faculty
development programs.
The broad Vision of the School is to strive to achieve excellence in management education, research, training and consultancy.
The School has entered into academic partnerships with College of Business Administration, San Diego State University
(SDSU) and National University of Singapore.
The School is widely acknowledged for its cutting-edge research activities, excellence in teaching and learning activity in an
intellectually stimulating environment.
About Hyderabad:
Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh (AP) and the fifth largest
city of India. While AP is known as the most IT savvy state in India,
Hyderabad is emerging as a major centre for IT exports. It’s share in
Indian IT exports is about 12%. The city is galloping towards its dream
of becoming the Silicon Valley of India. Today, it is home to many
international companies and global IT majors including Microsoft,
CA, Oracle, IBM, Dell, Infosys, Wipro, TCS and others. Apart from
IT, Hyderabad is also emerging as a leader in the pharma, insurance
and tourism sectors. In addition, it also houses the state ministries,
defence undertakings and research and development organizations.
Hyderabad has an international airport with direct flights from major
international carriers to many destinations around the globe. Tropical
is the right term to define the climate of Hyderabad. Located at an
elevation of 544 meters, the city observes three main seasons -
summer, monsoon and winter. The summer season extends from
March to May, whereas monsoons prevail from June to October and
winter season lingers from November to February. The intellectual
climate of the City is vibrant with Hyderabad being a home for nine
major Universities, several research institutions and libraries.
