Holi is the festival of changing season!
- His Holiness Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Holi is a festival of joy; it is a festival of changing season. Palash flowers are the best to
play Holi with. Scriptures too have account of Holi played with Palash flowers. The
flowers also have a lot of medicinal properties. According to Ayurveda, playing Holi
with Palash flowers alleviates doshas caused by Kapha and Pitta and is beneficial in
leprosy, inflammation, painful discharge of urine, gastric disorders, indigestion and blood
disorders. It improves blood circulation and strengthens muscles. It also strengthens
mental faculties and willpower.

If one plays Holi with Palash flowers, resistance to the heat of the coming summer season
is developed. The seven colours and the seven Dhatus are balanced. It equips the body
with resistance against hot summer sun. Playing Holi with Palash flowers makes one
cheerful and healthy.”

These are the words of Param Pujya Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu, a world-renowned saint
engaged day and night in the good of mankind. The occasion was satsang and Holi
celebration at MIDC Grounds, Aeroli-Thane.
The pious saint, who is known for his teaching the art of living a happy, healthy and
respected life said, “Taking on an empty stomach after proper mastication neem leaves
and a couple of black pepper seeds for 20-25 days following Holi protects one against
many a disease. Taking saltless or low salt diet for 15 days after Holi has a miraculous
effect on resistance against diseases.
The chemical colours sold in the market are injurious to health. They can cause cancer,
skin diseases and can bring temporary blindness.”
In view of ever-increasing crowds of devotees and in order that the devotees get the
benefit of satsang and playing Holi with natural colours at their door-steps, Sant Shri
Asaramji Bapu had Holi celebrations organised at five places in the country – Nagpur,
Mumbai, Khatushamji, Delhi and Surat. After bidding farewell to a mammoth crowd of
devotees at Nagpur, Pujya Bapuji arrived at Mumbai. An estimated 8 to 10 lakh devotees
participated in Holi celebrations at each of the five places.
The satsang and Holi celebrations at Mumbai were carried live across the country and
abroad by A2Z Channel, Internet T. V. Channel and local cable networks like In Cable,
Den Cable, Hathway Cable, JPR Cable, Sain Cable. It was also carried by UCN and In
Cable at Nagpur and various cable channels at Delhi and other places.
The darling of the masses, Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu sent words of solace to victims of
Tsunami disaster in Japan, “We shall help them in all possible ways physically, mentally
and financially. Let people not lose heart in such difficult situations. Let them take refuge
in Divine Power.”
Don’t be an intellectual; be a man of wisdom!
Bringing home the importance of having a noble intellect, the great spiritual Guru said,
“Being intelligent is not important; the important thing in life is to be wise. Ravana had
great intellectual faculties, but his intellect was entangled in the world. Shabari was wise;
she engaged her intellect in the quest for the Truth, for God. One who worships the Lord
with love, to him the Lord mercifully gives the Yoga of wisdom. The Lord makes him
akin to Himself – Existence-Consciousness-Bliss Absolute. All the needs of such a one
are then fulfilled.”
Explaining the meaning of God (Bhagwan) in very simple terms, the pious saint said,
“What is the meaning of Bhagwan? Bha… ga… waa… na… ‘Bha’ stands for bharan,
which means nurturing and sustainment. So God is One Who nurtures and sustains us.
‘Ga’ stands for gaman-aagaman, which means coming and going. So God is One Who
endows us with the power of movement. ‘Waa’ stands for Waani (speech). So God is
One Who endows men, animals and birds with the faculty of speech. ‘Na’ means no. So
God is One Who is eternal and remains in existence even when everything – the body,
the world – comes to nought. He is with you when nothing is.
God alone is our own; the body is not ours. Does the house know that it is yours? No. Do
the ornaments or vehicles know that they are yours? No, they don’t. But God knows that
you are His. The Lord says in the Gita:
‘The living soul in the world is an eternal portion of Myself.’
The Lord declares that you are eternal and are His descendent. You entered many bodies;
pleasures and pains frequented those bodies; but your relationship with the Lord is eternal
and immutable.”
The merit from a horse-sacrifice is nothing when compared with the joy of Self-
Bliss!
King Prithu wanted to become the king of heavens. The condition was to perform a
hundred horse-sacrifices. Prithu successfully performed 99 yajnas. In the horse-sacrifice,
the horse is ornamented and sent to go round the world. If the horse comes back
unchallenged by any king in the world, the horse-sacrifice is completed. 99 yajnas were
completed but the 100th yajna was interrupted. The horse sent to go round was stolen by
Indra, the king of heavens. Prithu had the power to subdue Indra and bring the horse
back, but he did not do so. The Rishis were surprised; they said, “Your long cherished
desire is being thwarted. Are you not feeling sad?” Prithu said, “I would have been sad,
had I not imbibed satsang. After listening to satsang I have understood that the kingship
of heavens is not eternal. When one’s accumulated religious merit is exhausted, it is
gone. I have also noticed that Indra who had become the king of gods by performing 100
horse-sacrifices has resorted to stealing. He steals for becoming happy. Better it is to go
for Self-Bliss as the saints do for which no stealing is required. I will now go for inner
bliss. Rishis said, “You have completed 99 yajnas. They will go waste.” Prithu said,
“They have not gone waste. They have taught me a very valuable lesson – one who
engages his mind in anything other than in attaining Self-Bliss through satsang must
come to grief in the end.”
The lesson Prithu learnt after 99 horse-sacrifices, is being told to you free of cost without
your having to make any effort whatsoever. How fortunate are the people of Mumbai!
Health-tip from Pujya Bapuji
A measure that will alleviate the three Doshas and build resistance: Lie on your back in
shavasana (corpse posture) on a mat or blanket, which is non-conductor of electricity,
early in the morning with an empty stomach and with your head towards east or south.
Breathe completely out and then expand and contract your belly 20-25 times. Repeat this
exercise three times so that the stomach exercise is repeated 60-70 times. Breathe out and
expand and contract the anus 30-40 times the way horse does while discharging faeces.
The process should be repeated 4-5 times so that expansion and contraction of the anus is
done 150-200 times. It is known as ‘sthal-basti’.
The benefits of this procedure: It is useful in 132 diseases occurring from any of the three
doshas. In addition, hundreds of diseases occurring from the mixed effect of the three
doshas are warded off. It is beneficial in whites, loss of semen, nocturnal emissions etc.
and also in stomach disorders like constipation, acidity, gastric disorders, stomach-pain,
piles. It makes the Kundalini rise upwards and helps in overcoming the six enemies –
desire, anger etc.
Mantra-Diksha tomorrow morning
Explaining the importance of Mantra-Diksha Pujya Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu said, “Lord
Rama took Mantra-Diksha from Vashishthaji; Lord Krishna took Mantra-Diksha from
Sandipani. Maa Kali appeared before the temple priest, Gadadhar and asked him to take
Mantra-Diksha from Totapuri. It was then that Gadadhar became Rama Krishna
Paramhans. Lord Vitthal Himself told Namdevji to take Mantra-Diksha from Visoba
Khechar. Lord Shiva told Parvatiji to take Mantra-Diksha from Vamadev. I too tell you
not to remain uninitiated. Such a one goes to infernal regions after death. He becomes a
snake, a buffalo or a chameleon etc. Therefore you must take Mantra-Diksha.
Mantra-Diksha will be granted on 14th March at 7.00 AM
