General Announcements
(New) On Thursday, March 31, at 7:00 p.m., WFAA‐Channel 8 will host a
Town Hall Meeting called "Beyond Bullying" at the RHS Performing Arts
Center on the Utley Campus. This event is part of the Channel 8
emphasis on the Rachel's Challenge program and will feature factual
information from experts, true‐story vignettes, questions from the
audience, and a pro‐active message. The event will last one hour and
will be recorded for broadcast. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and
Channel 8 is asking that audience members try to be seated by 6:45 p.m.
so anchor/moderator John McCaa can give the audience some filming
instructions.
WE NEED YOU! The information that will be presented will be very
valuable and relevant and I am sure that RISD staff and parents will
have many pertinent questions for our presenters. This event is free
and open to the public. It is family‐friendly, but would probably be most
appropriate for students in middle school and high school. PLEASE JOIN
US AS WE WANT TO SHOW OUR VIEWING AUDIENCE THAT
ROCKWALL ISD SUPPORTS RACHEL'S CHALLENGE AND THE PRO‐
ACTIVE ANTI‐BULLYING MESSAGE THAT WILL BE PRESENTED. Please
let me know if you have any questions.

Attendance Procedures
All absences require written documentation the day a student returns to
school. If you are signed up for Family Access, please enter absence
notifications through Skyward in lieu of written notes. Family Access
applications are available on campus or on the district web site. All
parents are encouraged to sign up for this excellent source of
information. For questions or for a student's early release, please call
469‐698‐2601. If your student has athletics 9th period and needs an
early release during that time, please call the office by 2:30.
Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate all parents bringing in forgotten
homework, athletic clothes, lunch, etc. Students WILL NOT be notified
that they have an item at the front desk. It is their responsibility to
check for items left. Instructional time is crucial and we do not want to
waste a moment of it! THANK YOU for your understanding.

HBO News
(New) Important deadline information. It has come to our attention
that there have been some glitches in HBO membership forms and dues
this year. Since the HBO is a charitable organization and since we want
to be Inclusive instead of exclusive, we are extending the deadline for all
HBO membership forms, together with dues payments, as well as all
scholarship applications to and including April 1, 2011.
Please turn in membership forms with dues and contributions by April
1, 2011, to Pam Nunnally in the athletic office or to Christina
Castleberry, Susie Ballard or myself. If you have ANY doubt as to
whether you’re a current member, please contact Christina Castleberry
at Christina.castleberry@live.com. Please contact her in sufficient time
for her to be able to respond to you in time to take care of this if you’re
not a current member. HBO Membership form is in the appendix (P.11).
With regard to scholarship applications, please have your senior go by
the counselor’s office (Mr. Jones’ office) and complete and turn in the
scholarship application no later than April 1, 2011. This application
does take a few minutes to complete, so please remind your student of
that fact. At this time, the HBO anticipates awarding approximately 10 ‐
$1,000 scholarships, and we want all who are interested to be included
in the scholarship process. To be considered, at least one parent of the
student, or the individual student, must be a member of the HBO AND
the scholarship application MUST be turned in by April 1, 2011.
Thank you for your courtesies and your prompt attention to this matter.
