We recommend taking a complete soil test to determine nutrients in the soil and making
needed amendments based on your soil test. All recommended applications below are based
on a dilution rate of a minimum of 15 gallons of water per acre. The applications are
recommended as a supplement to your current fertility program.

Greenhouse
Foliar apply Monty’s 2-15-15 at a rate of 2 ounces per gallon of water as often as needed
based on results.
Pre-Plant
Apply Monty’s Liquid Carbon* or Nanobind* at a dilution rate of 64 ounces per acre in a
minimum of 15 gallons of water. This treatment can be combined with any pre-plant application. Seed Starter/Foliar
l On sandy soils we recommend an application of 1 gallon of Liquid Carbon*

or Nanobind*.
l If you do not make a pre plant application use Monty’s Liquid Carbon* or Nanobind* in
the setter barrel.
At Transplanting
For both flue cured and burley tobacco, apply 64 ounces per acre of Monty’s Liquid Carbon*
or Nanobind* combined with 32 ounces per acre of Monty’s 8-16-8 in your setter barrel
at transplant.
Flue Cured Tobacco Growth Stage Applications
l First Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 8-16-8 per acre at 4 to 5 true
leaf stage.
l Second Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 8-16-8 per acre at lay-by.
All-Purpose Growth
l Third Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 2-15-15 per acre timed with 1st 8-16-8
sucker control treatment.
l Fourth Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 2-15-15 per acre timed with 3rd
sucker control treatment.
l Fifth Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 2-15-15 per acre timed with 6th
sucker treatment.
Burley Tobacco Growth Stage Applications
l First Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 8-16-8 per acre timed at 4-5 true
leaf stage.
l Second Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 8-16-8 per acre at lay-by.
l Third Application: Apply 16 to 24 ounces of Monty’s 2-15-15 per acre timed with
Root & Bloom
sucker control treatment.

Additional Considerations
l Anytime the plant is undergoing stress from weather, insects, or nutrient
deficiency, we recommend an additional pass of 16 to 24 ounces per acre of
Monty’s 8-16-8 or Monty’s 2-15-15 based on growth stage.
l More benefits may be noticed by applying an additional 8 to 16 ounces per acre of
Monty’s Liquid Carbon* or Calcium Plus at any growth stage. This can be tank-mixed
with other Monty’s products or with your herbicide, insecticide, or fungicide applications.
l All applications can be made as a tank mix with most farm chemicals.

When tank mixing any Monty’s product, always read and follow label directions of any pesticide you are considering. While
Monty’s tank-mix applications are suitable for many farm chemicals, we recommend conducting a jar test and a strip test to Liquid Carbon
insure compatibility. Monty’s products are designed specifically for foliar feeding applications; for plant growth, fertility and soil
conditioning purposes. Monty’s fertility products cannot be guaranteed or claim to provide better results when used in
