07/2010 – 09/2010 Angel Investment Internship Keiretsu Forum, Beijing


 Promoted the firm through presentations at large network events to private equity and
corporate investors across China
 Analysed, through in-house techniques, entrepreneur business plans and advised them on
how to produce a more viable case to potential investors
 Developed close-knit relationships with senior clients and translated investor contracts

09/2009 – 07/2010 Student Analyst Placement Department of Health, Leeds


 Worked within the Commissioning, Analysis and Intelligence team providing analytical support
for Long Terms Conditions. This placement was through the Government Operational
Research Service (GORS)
 Performed quantitative research in MS Excel and Stata, analysed and plotted variables such
as the effect on emergency admissions for patients with Ambulatory Care Sensitive Conditions
 Carried out forecasting techniques on Excel to determine trend of patients with a long term
conditions and reporting this to senior policy directors and economists
 Created a nation-used statistical toolkit which all Strategic Health Authorities use to assess
how well hospitals are providing care for patients with a Long Term Condition. This toolkit
saves £1-2m in efficiency savings

01/2005 – 09/2007 Grocery Assistant Asda Wal-Mart, Birmingham


 Worked in the Grocery department as an assistant, where my responsibilities included stock
control, dealing with customer enquiries and solutions to their complaints. Other duties were
fixing promotions around the shop-floor and general maintenance
 This experience taught me to how to work under pressure from managers’ requirements when
working different periods throughout the year. I learnt also how to prioritise my tasks and
working to tight deadlines.
07/2004 Student Placement Lloyds Banking Group, Birmingham
 An organised work placement, worked extensively with Sales consultants and the branch
manager in the preparation of a performance report of the branch as well as interacting with
clients. Main Duties - Providing daily reports, working on projects given by managers, gaining
experience in sales and consultancy.

campus for events and advised students about available opportunities
 3 day “Insight into Management” voluntary course – prepared and presented
group case studies to Deloitte and Ernst & Young
Community  Led team to 1st place in 6 hour Pedal Cart Grand Prix and solely responsible for
raising £220 for Macmillan Cancer Care
School  Ten Tors Team 35 mile hike award on Dartmoor in 24 hours. Prioritised
objectives and supported team members through this challenge

Volunteering  Teaching mathematics to underprivileged children from under-resourced
schools all around the world including India and China. I was a volunteer for the
Migrant Children’s Foundation, I personally raised £500 in order to purchase the
materials needed to refurbish their school in Beijing.
