OVERVIEW:
Changes in the competitive landscape, combined with rapid advances in the technology
and communication has made it more important than ever for organizations to use their
resources wisely and capitalize on the full value of those resources. Human resources are
the most important resource of an organization. Top executives in many firms are of the
view that human resource management practices and policies significantly affect their
ability to implement strategy in any area.

OBJECTIVES:

To provide the students with a comprehensive review of essential HR concepts,


techniques, its scope, its development & Career Opportunities in HR Field.

(i) To provide an extensive overview of the changing environment of HRM,


challenges involved in modern HRM & the evolutionary role of HR Manager.

To help students acquire and develop decision-making skills with respect to managing
people in organizations.

To develop an insight into the applications of HR through Case Analysis Methods, Role
Plays, Management Game sessions, Group Discussions etc on related topics.

(ii) To focus on Indian perspective by studying various HR practices followed by


reputed Indian Corporate Houses.

(iii) Discussions, Assignments & Projects based on Internet cases, articles from
newspapers, national & international journals & magazines.

PEDAGOGY:
An integrated approach of theoretical as well as practical knowledge of almost all areas
of HRM will be followed & the emphasis would be on encouraging the students, through
case studies, to use the concepts studied in the classroom, coupled with contemporary
knowledge of current scenario in the corporate to tackle different situations.
Pedagogy will involve an optimum combination of lecture sessions, case studies from
latest magazines, journals & internet on the related areas, group discussions,
