BOTTLE DONATIONS DESIRED!
My name is Jordan London and I am a 10 year old boy from
Rothesay. I am a grade five student at Rothesay Elementary
School and have been working very hard to raise money for
the 2011 Relay for Life-Hampton. I am a member of the Snow
Angels team. I have set a goal of raising $1000 for the Relay this Reminder: St. Paul’s Spring Fundraiser
year and doing this by collecting bottles in my community, from
family, friends, and a bottle drive. I made the decision to join the The popular Spring Fundraiser - Dessert & Card Party - will be

On Saturday April 9th, I organized a

the help of my parents (Art & Michelle

5, Jamie age 4, my cousin Wyatt aged 11
and several aunts, uncles and cousins we
gained a mountain larger than me worth
of bottles. I organized everything, and
even got my Father, my Aunt Ashley and
my Uncle Trevor to run pickup trucks

have more to go to reach my goal or
possibly exceed it!
If you could please donate your bottles

Benefit – a success
Cole Pender loves hockey, he not only played KV minor hockey
he also played spring hockey. The owner of the spring hockey
team that Cole played on last year, Andy Bezeau donated hockey
tape with 100% of the proceeds going to Cole Pender and his
family. The hockey tape was sold at the Peter Murray Arena,
Rothesay Arena, and the Gorman Arena. Express Hockey was
able to raise a total of $380. 219
Dear Editor
April marks the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Kapyong – one
of the most significant battles fought by the Canadians in the
Korean War. As a member of The War Amps Operation Legacy,
a group of committed young people who are dedicated to
preserving Canada’s military heritage, I would like to highlight
this anniversary.
On April 24th-25th, 1951, the 2nd Battalion of Princess Patricia’s
Canadian Light Infantry engaged in the Battle of Kapyong. From
their stand on Hill 677, the Patricia’s managed to hold their
positions and re-open the supply route despite tremendous odds
and bitter fighting. The Canadian action at Kapyong stopped the
Chinese advance in this sector of the front for the rest of the war
and earned the battalion the US Presidential Citation for valour.
Canada sent 26,791 soldiers to battle in Korea. More than 1,200 ADULT VOLLEYBALL
were seriously wounded and another 516 never came home. Adult volleyball ($3.00/person) will be held every Wednesday

To mark this anniversary, The War Amps
