erating in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Manager, Human Resources
* Established the human resources function for a 120-employee company, creating
and implementing a full range of HR programs and services which led to growth of
45% and decreased turnover by 50%.
* Negotiated 2 new benefits contracts which resulted in an annual savings of $33
5,000 and an enhanced suite of benefits.
* Worked with outside Consultant to set up a compensation structure to support b
usiness goals and objectives, and implemented all elements of a compensation pro
gram, from job titles and pay grades to surveys and merit and promotional guidel
ines.
* Developed, implemented and managed the performance appraisal process throughou
t the organization to enhance objective setting, recognition of results, coachin
g and employee development.
* Implemented a Time and Attendance Tracking system for all company locations, r
esulting in greater consistency in recording of absences and compliance with the
Fair Labor Standards Act.
* Researched, evaluated and selected a new 401k plan that offered employees with
12 more investment options and reduced fund fees on an average by 1.25% per fun
d.
* Developed and implemented corporate policies and procedures covering hiring, v
acation, substance abuse and disability.
* Established the new hire process to include development of an employment appli
cation, offer letter template, new hire package and orientation.
* Administered the employee relations function to include coaching, counseling,
disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with all federal, state and
local employment laws.
* Partnered with Counsel to prepare for and when necessary, attended mediations,
arbitration and other court proceedings to defend the company against lawsuits
and address complaints filed with outside agencies.
* Instituted a Service Awards Program for the organization.
* Implemented a Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
