ORGANISATION STUDY
DURATION – 1 MONTH
1. ARRANGEMENT OF CONTENTS:
The sequence in which the Organisation report material should be arranged and
bound should be as follows:

2. PAGE DIMENSION AND BINDING SPECIFICATIONS:
The dimension of the OS report should be in A4 size. The report should be bound and
covered using flexible thick art paper of light blue colour.
The cover should be printed in black letters and the text for printing should be as
specified. On the cover page,
- A frame/boundary must be given and then print the title etc. within the frame.
(See Appendix 1)
- The frame size and appearance must be the same for all the reports.
The Name of the organisation and the name of the student should be printed
conspicuously on the spine of the project report.
3. TYPING INSTRUCTIONS:
3.1 The impression on the typed copies should be black in colour.
3.2 One and a half spacing should be used for typing the general text.
3.3 The general text shall be typed in the font style ‘Times New Roman’ and
font size 12.
3.4 A total of four copies should be prepared; for the university, organization,
institute and the student.
4.1 Cover page – A specimen copy of the Cover/Title page of the report is
given in Appendix 1. A frame must be given on the outer cover of the report and
the size of the frame must be in such a way as to leave one and a half inches on
all four sides and then print the title etc. within the frame. The frame size and
appearance must be the same for all the reports.
4.3 Declaration by Student to the effect that the work is bona fide and has not
formed part of any other submission. See Appendix – 2. Each student shall
insert the names of their respective guides (organizational guide and faculty
guide) on this format.

4.4 Certificate from the Institute- Will be issued from the Department after
successful completion of the organization study and with the concurrence from
the respective faculty guides. This will be issued only after each candidate
completes each stage of the study and report within the stipulated deadline.
Reports without this certificate will not be sent to the University for further
processing.
4.5 Table of Contents – The table of contents should list all materials preceding
and following it. The Title Page should not be included in the Table of Contents.
One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the matter under this head.
4.6 List of Tables – The list should use exactly the same captions as they appear
above the tables in the text. One and a half spacing should be adopted for typing the
matter under this head. The page numbers where the tables appear should be shown
on the right hand side of this page. A specimen copy of the list of tables is given in
Appendix 3.
4.7 (a) List of Figures/Graphs /Charts – The list should use exactly the same
captions as they appear below the figures in the text. One and a half spacing should be
adopted for typing the matter under this head.
4.7 (b) List of Symbols, Abbreviations and Nomenclature- Standard symbols,
abbreviations etc. should be used.

Conclusions should be drawn exclusively from the study.
References within the text of the report may be indicated at the end of the
sentence/paragraph which has been referred.
For example: (Smith, 2003)., (Hawkins, Best and Coney, 2005).
Appendices- Any form of additional information which are not included in the
main text, but relevant as a supplementary information should be included here
as an exhibit.
Eg: Any form of photograph, pictures, information like balance sheet,
production processes, layout of the plant, machineries, warehouse,
transportation, reports of any department etc.
