Olympia’s “Friendship Day” at Balok Beach

Olympia College, Kuantan campus had recently celebrated “Friendship Day” by organizing a trip to
Balok Beach. The “Friendship Day 2010” is dedicated to its students, SPM school leavers as well as
their friends. Over hundred SPM school leavers and their friends came to celebrate this occasion.

The staff , students as well as the SPM school leavers departed from the college to Balok beach by two
buses. Upon reaching Balok Beach, there was ice-breaking session and the students were divided into
four groups namely Silver (Silver), Pink (Pink Panther), Yellow (IDC – I Don’t Care) and Purple
(Avatar). Activities such as “Water Splash, Balloon Catcher, Candy Finder and some traditional games
such as “Kaki Lipan” and “Kaki Hantu” were organized during the event. Also, the students played
games such as “Message Passer” where participants need to act out the message and also “Who will be
the Longest” where all the participants had to lie down on the beach to form the longest line. The
students had great fun throughout the activities.

Thereafter, there was a prize giving session and the winners of various games were announced. Many of
them received attractive prize and there were also a lucky draw session.

Mr Sundar, the Principal of Kuantan campus said “Friendship Day” is celebrated all over the world. It is
a perfect occasion to show your friends that you care. After all, they are the one you bank upon in the
moments of despair. We wanted to make sure that “Friendship's Day” is special for the students this
year.”

“Our objective of organizing this event is to foster closer ties and team-building between the students and
the SPM school leavers which is why we had organized this fun-filled activity.

“This activitiy certainly brought smile on their faces. The students gave us positive feedback on this
activity and they had so much fun. We thank the organizers and students council members for their
effort.”

Olympia College’s cutting edge and industry oriented Diploma in Business Studies programme will equip
students with the right professional skills required by the multi-national corporations. Students will be

recognized for exemptions and on completion of an integrated project will be awarded the prestigious
Higher National Diploma (HND) from Edexcel, UK.

This guarantees entry into 2nd year of an undergraduate degree locally or to over 200 universities in UK,
USA and Australia. Students who want an European exposure can also completed their degree through
the University of Information Technology and Management (UITM), Poland at very affordable fees.
