OLYMPIA COLLEGE , KL CAMPUS ORIENTATION BALL NITE

Olympia College’s Orientation Ball Nite took place on 16th July 2010 at the Melia Hotel, Kuala
Lumpur. Over two hundred guests comprising of the management, staff, faculty, students and
guests gathered to celebrate this year’s theme “All Around the World”, aimed at showcasing
various international cultures and traditions.

Mr. Sydney Pereira, Managing Director was the Guest of Honour. Also, in attendance were Mr.
Kevin Pereira, Executive Director, Dr. Vijay, Deputy Director of Studies and Mr Brian Param,
the Principal of Olympia College, Kuala Lumpur campus.

According to Mr Brian Param, the Principal of KL campus, “The Orientation Ball Nite organized
by the KL campus is unique as our students organized the event from planning, budgeting, time
management, performances, public relations and such. They were supported by the staff in
putting the event together. This helps the students to be able to work in a team. Team work is the
corner stone in any job in today’s world.”

The students came from various countries such as Cameroon, Nigeria, Malaysia, Iran, Indonesia,
Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, etc.

The function began with a message from Mr Sydney Pereira, Mr Brian Param and the President
of the Student Council. This was swiftly followed by a fashion show showcasing vast number of
glittering traditional attires of different nationalities.

Guests were treated to an eight course Chinese sit-down dinner. As dinner was being served, the
audience were treated to exciting performances such as singing, dancing, rapping and some
students even exhibited their talents with musical instruments.

Subsequently, lucky draws was conducted and some lucky winners received prizes such as
vouchers for a trip to Cameron Highlands. Lecturers also received prizes as some of them won
prizes based on their virtues such as passion, dedication, supportiveness etc.

The medals was also presented during the Orientation Nite for the soccer tournament that took
place between the international students versus the local students and staff. The local students’
team was declared this year’s Champion and they received the gold medals while the
international student’s team received the silver medals.

Towards the end, the dance floor was opened, everyone let their hair down to dance to the superb
music spinned by the DJ.

and institutions such as University of Derby, UK, Edexcel International, UK, Schiller International
University, American Management Association (AMA, USA) , Business & Hotel Management School
(BHMS) Switzerland, University of Information Technology and Management (UITM) Poland and such.
The college allows everyone from SPM to working adults entry at various points. Programmes conducted
are both full-time and part-time.
