EDUCATION
-University of Houston - Clear Lake
Houston, TX US
Some College Coursework Completed - 5/2011
Major: Engineering Management
GPA: 4.0 out of 4.0
Relevant Coursework and Accomplishments:
-Project Management
-Six Sigma
-Systems Engineering Management Planning
-Management of Technology
-University Of Oklahoma
Norman, OK US
Master's Degree - 12/2008
Major: Mechanical Engineering
GPA: 4.0 out of 4.0
Honors: summa cum laude
Relevant Coursework and Accomplishments:
Thesis: Fluid Structure Interaction Simulation of Blood Flow in the Left Heart.
Prosthetic heart valve design can be improved with a more complete understanding
the mechanism of heart valve opening and closing. To that end, a fluid-structur
e interaction simulation of the heart was conducted. The study showed that ventr
icle wall motion can cause heart valves to open and close even in the absence of
a favorable pressure gradient. This finding contradicts the widely held notion
that pressure gradients are the primary mechanism of heart valve motion.

Bachelor's Degree - 12/2007
Major: Mechanical Engineering
Minor: Math, Spanish
GPA: 4.0 out of 4.0
Honors: summa cum laude
Relevant Coursework and Accomplishments:
MEMS: Torsional Ratcheting Actuator Design. The SUMMiT V micromachining fabricat
ion process was used to develop design changes to increase the reliability and f
unctionality of a torsional ratcheting actuator.
Electrohydrodynamic Drag Reduction: Wind tunnel experiments were designed and co
nducted to determine the effectiveness of electrohydrodynamic drag reduction on
a circular cylinder. Results were summarized in a paper entitled "Electrohydrody
namic Drag Reduction on a Circular Cylinder" and presented at the ASME 2007 Grad
uate Student Research and Innovations Conference.
