Introduction:
Have you ever seen a fox before? Where do they live?

Process:
Students pat beat as teacher sings “A Fox Went Out” (ST:1)
Class writes rhythm to song using rhythm icon cards (ST:6)
Teacher reads sound story “Two Kittens at the Zoo”; students perform vocal exploration
Students step to each note in “In the Hall of the Mountain King” and decide movement for rests
What happened in the music? (Accelerando, crescendo) (ST:6)
Teacher sings “Pumpkin Pumpkin” while showing melodic contour with body percussion (ST:1)
Students form into partners and get into a circle facing each other and perform this clapping pattern: clap own hands, clap
partner’s hands, clap own, partner’s etc. Hold hands on fat; change places on “turn into a jack-o-lantern”; outside circle takes a step
to change partners on “that”
