Simulation 1 : Electric consumption by month

- The electric consumption is highest in June ,July

August and Sep. The total energy consumption
In July is 103 000 kWh. ( Compared with 84000 in
measurement statistics)
- From March to November : Space Cooling occupy
more than 50% energy consumption in the building
- The energy for lighting is account for 10% energy
consumption a month, equal to energy for pump.
- Ventilation fan account for 13% energy consumption

Simulation 2 : Some renovation in Building Envelope
Constructions

Roof :Add some exterior insulation

Finish : Steel Galvanized
Wall : Add Insulation and
polystyrene
Ground floor : Make more Insulation
In both exterior and interior
Simulation 2 : Reduce roof skyline

Roof Skyline: Decrease the density of skyline window

Add some Insulation and material has low u-value to deacrese solar conduction and solar radiation
Simulation2 - Energy Consumption by Month

- The electric consumption is highest in Jule ,August but it decreased

significantly from 103000 to 95000 due to the heating exchange is Simulation 1 680011
smaller than present situation Simulation 2 630310

The total energy consumption in all the year is 630310 kWh in , so it is

deacreased near 50000 kW than present situation case
Simulation2 - Energy Consumption by Month

- The electric consumption for ventilation fan is higher

due to too much space was the open space in
museum. And exchange air between indoor space
and outdoor space
- The energy used for space cooling is decreased
significantly
- Pumps and Aux is still keep their function but
decreased slightly due to decreased the water
consumption for air-conditional system

Simulation 3 solution

Use some fan in the border to prevent the air temperature loss in space between Gallery and Stair
Simulation3 - Energy Consumption by Month

Lighting fixture
 There are too much lighting
here. We can reduce lighting in
this area.
 This window can open more to
receive natural lighting
 Task lighting in this area is not
necessary. We can turn it off to
save energy
Lighting fixture
 There are too much lighting
here even in window where we
can open to receive natural
lighting
 The density of lighting is too
high . We can reduce it.
Simulation 4 solution

We can decrease the Design Ventilation in Lobby and Restroom

Add some curtain wall to make the space more independent . So that we can control the area that need
air conditioning and the area can use natural ventilation
Simulation 4 solution

There is over lighting in the area of Restaurant , and in the sunlight exhibition
We can take advantages from natural lighting in the out side and decrease the lighting in
this area. It is big like in restaurant now, it is 2 times than normal different space
Simulation4 - Energy Consumption by Month

Conclusion

- The electric consumption is highest in July ,August due to so large

amount of energy is used for space cooling
- There are some method to reduce the energy consumption in the
building by separate the space, use the low u-value
material, decrease the skylight window and close the window to
decrease the solar radiation and solar conduction
- The electric fixtures is quite consume less money than other
consumption source, so it will not contribute much to energy
consumption in the building
- With all above method, the building still work well , but the energy
consumption will less in enormous amount than before
