ions for all types of benefit plans for clients of this private benefits broker.
Researched legal requirements for 5500 filing and SPDs. This temporary assign
ment was for 3 months and ended in February, 2010.

Manager, Compensation & Benefits 2000 to 2009
Reported to Chief Human Resources Officer; designed compensation structure and a
ll benefits/reward systems for all levels for $170 million payroll and over $30
million benefits budget, 3300-4700 employees.
* Led and managed staff of up to 14, transforming culture from a service transac
tion system to a customer service driven team environment in support of business
with electronic position control
* Collaborated with the Manager of Payroll and Controller to redesign payroll sy
stem to electronic time keeping and in selecting a new HRIS system (Lawson) incr
easing accuracy and efficiency in payroll, recordkeeping, and reporting
* Initiated continual education sessions explaining Total Rewards systems that i
ncluded 4 hour Management training and employee orientation sessions leading to
significant increase in employee satisfaction regarding their compensation syste
ms, pay range development, market pricing explanations, & benefits that reduced
related turnover
* Established pay ranges for all 4700 employees using market pricing and job eva
luation. Continually held small group sessions, one on ones, and larger sessions
to communicate and promote pay systems
* Redesigned rewards and recognition over time to improve and maintain morale.

er review of safety, leadership, customer service, caring, and quality.
* Evaluated & recommended all staffing hiring offers including VP levels, in con

* Developed new/revised electronic performance appraisal systems with management

arket pricing and continual monitoring of wage and salary pay systems to establi
sh new ranges, annual merit and adjustment budgets, external as well as internal
