I worked as Sr. EHS Drilling Consultant for the Southern Division. At the time t
he bottom fell out of the O&G market, I had 24 drilling rigs operating with a TR
IR of (0.63).
Duties included operational management of the Field Safety Techs (46) throughout
the So. Div. Kept in close contact with all Drilling Suptas. And provided weekl
y reporting for the entire division. I traveled throughout the division attendin
g to problems or problematic job or rigs throughout the division. Worked for the
So. Div. EHS team & also worked very closely with the So. Division Drilling Man
agement Team. Ensured environmental regulations were upheld from State, & Feder
al Levels. ISO 9001 & 14001 followed closely and tracked air emissions for drill
ing, workover & completions. Followed OSHA standards and regularly attended STEP
S meetings.
Met regularly with ICE, National Guard and the Border Patrol in the Laredo, TX a
reas (Freer, Hebronville & Zapata locations) and discussed current illegal activ
ities to be on the watch out for, during that period of time. I have worked with
many different state entities or DEQas, CERCLA & EPA nationally on many differe
nt environmental issues from spills, spill investigations & facility environment
al placement. I tracked air emissions for Drilling, Production & W/O & Completio
ns and participated in the EPA STAR program. We were so successful with the EPA
STAR program that we created our own profit center by capturing the escaping gas
and placing it back into Devonas pipeline systems.
I performed Auditing for Environmental, Safety & Health regulations specific to
OSHA, MMS, EPA,). Also ensured contractual requirements of Devon Energy were met
, that included DOT requirements in Drug & Alcohol testing and transportation re
gulations inside Devon and their contractors.
