Qatar Charity (QC) is a Doha based International non-government organization, established in the state of Qatar 30 years back to sustain the needy communities in and out of Qatar. Qatar charity is working in Pakistan since 1992 having its country office in Islamabad and field offices in Leepa, Bagh, Muzaffarabad in AJK; Swat, Dir in KPK; Rajanpur, DG Khan, Multan in Southern Punjab. In addition to these field offices, QC operates using a network of partner organizations all over Pakistan. In Pakistan, QC is mainly working in the following thematic areas; Disaster Management, Sustainable Livelihoods, Water and Sanitation, Education & Cultural Support, Social Protection, Primary Health Care and Community Physical Infrastructure.

Job Details: Position: Project Engineer Location: D. G. Khan Responsible to: Field Coordinator Technical Manager: CPI Advisor (actions related to construction would be shared with CPI advisor) Main Purpose of Job: The Project Engineer based in DG Khan would be expected to provide support to our DG Khan Programs in accordance with QC guidelines. He will be responsible for working with communities through QC social mobilization unit and design local projects in accordance with QC vision, mission and objectives. Following this, (s)he is to follow QC systems and procedures in technical issues; mainly related to organizational development. Job Responsibilities: As part of the programme management unit and under the direct supervision of the Field Coordinator, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities: Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets and specifications for the successful implementation of the projects Full working knowledge of surveying techniques and procedures is necessary Prepare detailed cost estimates, planning, implementation and technical feasibility for project proposals Determine staff input and time requirements for project construction, implementation and supervision

She/he shall at all times know progress of the ongoing projects with respect to planning and should be able to give details of why project ahead/behind schedule at all times Provide complete support during supervision of constructions; carry out quality control inspections and monitor progress Develop standard drawings, bills of quantities and detail materials list for projects Provide basic technical trainings to the local communities for the sustainability and construction of school buildings. Where possible develop and propose new projects

Qualifications and Competencies: Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (B.Sc) Minimum 2 3 years experience in construction of building projects. Language skills: Effective verbal and non verbal communications and convincing skills. Must be a good listener Fluent in English - Urdu and Punjabi Essential requirements: Knowing billing procedures, material quality testing, AutoCAD Good analytical, planning, prioritizing and interpersonal skills Excellent communication & report writing skills An ability to work towards deadlines independently Personal Qualities: Must be well groomed and have a pleasant personality, Courteous, trustworthy, punctual, responsible and having integrity with the team.
