Q. Is there one big factor to consider when investing money?
MONEY MANAGEMENT
A. Probably the first question you should ask in setting your investment goals is: What is my time horizon? In other words, when will you need the money? Are you investing for your young child's college education, or for your retirement 30 years Roger Ford in the future? Or are your goals nearer, such as buying a house in 3 years, or starting your own business in 5 years? Your time horizon will have a significant impact on the type of investments you should make. The general rule is: The longer your time horizon, the more risky (and potentially more lucrative) investments you can make. Many financial advisors believe that with a longer time horizon, you can ride out fluctuations in your investments for the potential of greater longterm returns. Therefore, investments such as common stock or real estate may be appropriate for you. On the other hand, if your time horizon is very short, you may want to concentrate your investments in less risky vehicles because you may not have enough time to recoup losses, should they occur. Call for an appointment and we at Conservative Financial Solutions can help you in diversifying your assets to help you meet all of your goals.

Q. What are the advantages of using a realtor? A. Excellent question! For sellers, one of our missions is to get the highest possible price for their homes. Past statistics have shown us that folks who use a realtor realize a higher price for their homes than folks that did not. One way we do that is our ability to get the message out. Through the Multiple Listing Service, different Tom Himmler websites, and working with hundreds of other Broker/Owner local realtors we can find more buyers looking to buy. The more buyers we can get interested in your home, the higher price it will bring. Simple supply and demand. For buyers, we help folks by not only finding their dream home, we make sure they are buying it at the right price. We work with home inspectors, appraisers, and lenders to make sure everything is done correctly and goes smoothly. We also are knowledgeable about different types of loans available to help you find the mortgage with the down payment and monthly payment that works best for them. Call one of our agents today!

AUTO COLLISION
Hail Damage The weather we have experienced over the past few weeks make this a perfect time to discuss hail and the serious damage hail can cause to a vehicle. Our customers usually ask two questions: first, is hail damage covered by insurance; and second, how is this damage repaired? Hail damage does fall under the comprehensive Ed Gerstner portion of an insurance policy; which also covers issues such as deer hits, theft, vandalism, fire, and acts of nature that are beyond your control. We examine the car thoroughly and identify the hail damage. Depending on the severity of the dent, we use one of two repair methods. The dent might be able to be repaired using a paintless dent repair process, where we actually work the dent out without having to break the paint. However, the severity of some dents requires them to be repaired using conventional methods repairing and painting the damaged area as required. In either case, Randy Lane's Auto Body, Inc. will effectively handle a hail damage claim for you.

Q. What are my duties if I file a property claim with my insurance company? A. As a condition of coverage, your property policy requires certain things of you in the event you have a loss. These are conditions that must be met by the policyholder in order for the insurance company to pay for the loss. 1. Prompt notice of loss must be given to the company or their agent. Roger Ford 2. Theft loss must be reported to the police. 3. Property must be protected from further damage. If this requires the insured to make reasonable and temporary repairs to protect the property, accurate records must be kept of the repair expenses. 4. The policyholder has a duty to cooperate with the insurer in the claim investigation. 5. The policyholder must prepare an inventory of the damaged or lost personal property. A full description and value must be listed and receipts, bills, or related documents should be included if available. 6. The policyholder must make the damaged property available for inspection by the insurance company. 7. Policyholder must complete a proof of loss form and it must be signed and sworn.
