Online applications are invited from the candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to VIII in sch ools in Andhra Pradesh for appearance at first Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) to be conduc ted by Depar tment of School Education, Governme nt of Andhra Pradesh on July 31, 2011 in all 23 Districts of the State. In accordance with the provisions of sub-se ction (1) of se ction 23 of the Right To Education Act, 2009 the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide its Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for classes I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the esse ntial qualifications for a person to be eligible for appo intment as a teacher in any of the sch ools referred to in clause (n) of se ction 2 of the RTE Act is that she /he should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conduc ted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE. Acco rdingly, Government of Andhra Prade sh has issu ed gu idelines for condu cting Teacher Eligibility Test in A.P. vide G.O.Ms. No. 51, School Education (SE.GENL-II) Dept., Dated 16 04 2011. APTET is applicable to all candidates who aspire to become teachers of classe s I to VIII in the sch ools of the State Governmen t, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, Private aided sch ools and Private unaided sch ools in Andhra Pradesh State. However, the candidates intending to seek employment as a teacher in private unaided sch ools shall have the option of appea ring at CTET conduc ted by CBSE instea d of APTET if they so desire. The test (APTET) will be conduc ted in 2 papers viz. Paper-I & Paper-II. The candidates who intend to be teachers for classes I to V have to appear at Paper-I and the candidates intending to be teachers for classes VI to VIII have to appear for Paper-II. The candidates who intend to be teachers for all classes from I to VIII can appear for both paper s, Paper-I & Paper-II. TET will be conduc ted in identified examinations cen tres on July 31, 2011 in all the Districts of State as per timings given below: Paper-I : 9.30 am to 12.00 noon. 1

Paper-II : 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm Candidates can download the Information Bulletin giving details of the test free of cost from the APTET website http://aptet.cgg .go v.in from 20.05.2011 before a pplying on-line. 1. How to apply and when?

(a)Fee for submiss ion of application online: The fee for application for APTET online including examination fee is Rs.300 .00. Candidates can pay the fee through APONLINE between 20.05.2011 and 16.06.2011 and submit online application at the APTET website http://aptet.cgg .go v.in betwee n 20.05.2011 and17 .06.2011. (b)PROCEDURE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPL ICATION ONLINE i. The candidates shall at first download the Information Bulletin and Use r Guide free of cost from the APTET website http://aptet.cgg .go v.in/, go through it carefully and sa tisfy their eligibility for appea ring for APTET, July 2011. The candidate after satisfying herse lf/himse lf about the eligibility criteria for APTET shall pay a fee of Rs.300.00 through APONLINE towards submission of application online and for the conduct of examination. At the APONLINE Centres, the candidate has to give the required preliminary data (i.e. Name of the candidate, Date of birth, Gende r, whether the candidate belong s to A.P. and mobile phone numbe r). On receipt of fee at APONLINE the candidate shall be issu ed a Journal Number on the receipt of the fee with which she /he can proceed with submission of application online. (Iss ue of Journal Number does not mean that the cand idate has completed sub miss ion of app licat ion online. It is only a confirmation of the fee rece ived). The candidates shall follow the procedure of submission of online application as given in the Information Bulletin and also as per the instructions provided online while filling up the online application form. The Candidate should be ready with photograph of size 3.5X3.5cms before filling in on-line application. Paste the pho tograph on a white paper and sign below (sign in Black Ink only). Look for the sa mple in the Information Bulletin(Page No.9). Ensure that the signa ture is within the box. Scan the required size containing the pho tograph and signa ture. Plea se do not scan the complete page. The entire image con sisting of photo along with signa ture is required to be scanned and stored in *.jpeg format on local machine. Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50kb. If the size of the image is more than 50 kb, then adjust the se ttings of the scanner such as dpi resolutions, no. of colors during the process of sca nning. Confirm the next dialogue box(i.e., Fields marked with * are compulsory) 5. Enter your Journal Number issu ed by Aponline, the date of payment of fee s and Date of birth. 6. At the field Attach your latest pho tograph Click on Browse button and attach candidates photograph and signa ture stored on the local machine. 7. Tick the declaration and enter the verification code. 8. Press Upload 9. The application will be opened. 10.Now fill in the application form as per the instructions given in the Use r Guide and Information Bulletin and those offered while filling the online application form. 11 .After filling all the details press PREVIEW button. This will display the details submitted by you 12 .If you find all the details correct press SUBMIT other wise press EDIT and resubmit the information. On submission of application form online the candidate shall be given reference ID number which should be kept carefully for any kind of future correspo ndence. Submission of application can be considered to have bee n completed only on receiving reference ID nu mber. On completion of submission, the candidates shall take a printout of the a pplication and store it for future use. Candidates should not post the printout of the application to APTET office. In case of any clarifications before, during or after submission of application online the candidates may con tact the help desk at Telephone Numbers CGG:7702922003, 7702922004 between 10.30 a.m. and 5.00 p.m on all working days from 20-05-20 11 to 30-07-2011. The candidates can also post their complaints pertaining to their application at http://aptet.cgg .go v.in between 20.05.2011 to 10.07.2011. In any case applications will not be received in any kind of manual form. Candidates can download their Hall Ticke ts from the website at http://aptet.cgg .go v.in from 16.07.2011. In case the Hall ticke t is not received by 18.07.2011, the candidates should con tact the Director, APTET-July 2011, O/o the Commissioner and Director of School Education, A.P., Saifabad, Hyderabad 04 between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM on all working days giving details of the journal number of the fee paid, reference number of the application submitted, a copy of the printout of the Application form and one pho tograph (as pas ted on the application form) between19.07.2011 and 29.07.2011.

2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The candidate at the time of applying for APTET-July 2011 should be in posse ssion of the minimum qualifications prescr ibed for a teacher for category I to V classes (Paper I) and VI to VIII classes (Paper-II) as given below. a) Minimum Qualifications for Classes I-V: Intermediate / Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passe d in 2 - year Diploma in Education OR Intermediate /Senior Secon dary (or its equivalent) with at lea st 50% marks and passe d in 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) OR Intermediate /Senior Secon dary (or its equivalent) with at lea st 50% marks and passe d in 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* OR B.A. /B.Sc./B.Com with at lea st 45% marks and B.Ed. (these B.Ed. candidates will be eligible for appo intment for classes I to V only upto 1st Januar y, 2012 ).

Note:

Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at Intermediate / Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates. Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc/B.Com is admissible for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates.

Minimum Qualifications for Classes VI-VI II: B.A. / B.Sc./B.Com and passed in 2 - year Diploma in Education OR B.A. /B.Sc./B.Com with at lea st 45% marks and passed in 1 - year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). OR B.A. / B.Sc./B.Com with at lea st 50% marks and pass ed in 1 - year B.Ed. (Special Education)* OR Intermediate /Senior Secon dary (or its equivalent) with at lea st 50% marks and passe d 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.) 4

OR Intermediate /Senior Secon dary (or its equivalent) with at lea st 50% marks and passe d 4-year B.Sc. Ed or B.A. Ed.

Note:

Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at Intermediate / Senior Secondary level is admissible for SC/ST/ Differently abled Candidates. Relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks at BA/B.Sc/B.Com is admissible for SC/ST/BC/Differently abled candidates.

ii) Telugu Pandit

In addition to above, cand idates with Language Pandit Training are also eligible. The qualifications are as follows: B.A. (Telugu Literature) or BA (Oriental Language-Telugu) or Bachelor of Oriental Language Telugu or a Gradua te Degree with optional subject Telugu or MA (Telugu ) and Telugu Pandit Training Certificate. A Gradua te Degree with optional subject Hindi or Bachelor of Oriental Language Hindi or Praveen of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha or Vidwan of Hindi Prachar Sabha, Hyderabad or any other equivalent recognized qualification in Hindi (BA standard) by the Governme nt of A.P. or M.A., Hindi and Hindi Pandit Training Certificate. Howeve r, in case of Diploma in Education (Spec ial Educat ion) and B.Ed. (Spec ial Educat ion), a course recogn ized by the Rehabilitation Counc il of India (RCI) only shall be considered.

a) All questions in APTET July 2011 will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one ans wer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. 5

b) There will be two papers of APTET-July 2011. (i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V. PASS MARKS IN TET:

5. Validity period of TET ce rtificate / Marks Memo:

APTET certificate / Marks Memo shall be valid for a period of 7 years from the date of issu e in accordance with NCTE Guidelines. 6. WEIGHTAGE FOR APTET SCORES IN TRT: 20% weightage will be given to APTET scores in the ensuing Teac her Recruitment Test (TRT) of the State Government i.e., 20% weightage is for APTET and 80% weightage for written test in Tea cher Recruitment Test (TRT). 7. 8. EXEMPTION TEST:

Teachers who were appo inted before NCTE notification, dated 23-08-2010 on se lection 8

by District Selection Committee or by compe tent authority in Govt. / Local Authority as per Recruitment rules prevalent at that time are exemp ted from appea ring at TET Exam. However,

teachers working in private sch ools whose appo intment were not approved by compe tent authority in Government are not exemp ted from passing TET. Such teachers of private unaided sch ool can appear at TET conduc ted by either state Government or Central Governme nt. In respect of non approved teachers working in private aided sch ool, they should inva riably appear at TET conducted by State Government Only.
