Use fiber paper protection at cable break off. If using thin paper, 2 wraps is needed.
Do not hesitate to cut tie wraps installed by Bechtel. We are responsible for the last secured position. Use white tie wraps all the time.
Harness the cables so they break off like waterfalls. As much as possible, tie them on top of ladder and not to the side. The RF jumpers are flexible, they are easy to dress.
Avoid tying to the side. If cables are too short to be dressed as required upon break, note this as an observation in the RBS checklist.
POWER
Do not forget to test and trace the cables before terminating. Do not trust the labels! To do this, I suggest you measure the voltage of each pair to verify (+)cables and then trace physically the (-) cables.
Stripped length = about 15 mm Use the terminals as reference for length. Must have no shiners. Use thin amount of No-OX.
No shiners
P or D-Tags! Review labels to make sure they are installed to the intended cable. The print can be read from top to bottom. In this example, the tags were installed correctly, but the labels were not.
T1 CABLES
Secure T1 cables at these locations using sticky backs and small tie wraps. One of top most, one in the bottom between the 1st and 2nd screw
Tie wraps
Do not roll the cables in loop. Run them back and forth in the ladder rack
Install fiber papers when T1 cables cross/touch the edge of ladders or cross/touch other cables such as ground, DC and RF.
You may wrap either the cable or the ladder rack with fiber.
GROUNDING
Ground lug should be #2 (Brown) 1 hole lug with inspection hole.
When using hand crimper, 2 crimps for standard barrel (above) and 4 crimps for long barrel (below). Crimps should be within the band/s.
Torque to 15 Nm
Conductor must reach and be seen at this inspection hole. Also, no excess conductor should protrude.
RF JUMPERS
Fit the jumpers to the rubber slots directly above the FU.
Torque connections to 25 Nm
