Topics / Temas
Number
2. Understand and solve problems involving proportionality and ratios. Differentiate between upper and lower bounds and round numbers correctly.
Students should be able to: Understand and solve problems involving proportionality Compare two ratios Interpret and use ratio in a range of contexts Understand approximation to specified numbers of significant figures and decimal places; Give appropriate upper and lower bounds for data given to specified accuracy;
Students should be able to: Understand how to use an electronic calculator effectively; handle number manipulation mentally and show evidence of performing calculations without the aid of a calculator

Functions 2. Solve problems and make graphs of functions, as well as interpret correctly real-life graphs. Students should be able to: Find the inverse of a linear function, construct functions arising from real life problems and plot their graphs, interpret graphs arising from real situations.
Algebra
Students should be able to: simplify or transform algebraic expressions by taking out single-term common factors, construct and solve linear equations. Simplify and transform algebraic expressions using common factors. Add simple algebraic fractions, derive a formula, and in simple cases, change its subject. Substitute numbers into equations and formulae, use formulae from mathematics and other subjects. Find the solution of linear, simple simultaneous and quadratic equations using algebraic manipulation; Demonstrate the understanding of simple inequalities;
Term No 3 / Bimestre No 3
Topics / Temas
Geometry
2. Draw and interpret graphs of simple functions; plot linear graphs and find gradients of linear graphs.
The student should be able to draw and interpret the graphs of simple functions, use tables of values and find the gradient of straight line graphs. find the solution of linear and simple simultaneous equations using graphs.
3. Calculate areas and volumes of figures derived from triangles, quadrilaterals and circles.
The student should be able to: Calculate the perimeter and area of triangles, quadrilaterals and circles, and the volumes derived from these shapes.
Term No 4 / Bimestre No 4
Topics / Temas
Data Handling and Probability
Transformations
The student should be able to: Transform 2-D shapes by combinations of translations, rotations and reflections. Identify reflection symmetry in 3D shapes. Enlarge 2-D, given a center of enlargement, and a whole number scales factor. Identify the scale factor of an enlargement as the ratio of line segments.
Recognize that enlargements preserve angle but not length. Use and interpret maps and scale drawings.
3. Use sine, cosine and tangent in right-angled triangles to solve problems in 2-D
The student should be able to: apply Pythagoras theorem properly Find angles and sides using sine, cosine and tangent ratios in rightangled triangles Represent problems in geometric and graphical form
