Course Schedule WEEK 1 and 2: January 31- February 12 MODULE 1 - HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT FROM A STRATEGIC PERSPECTIVE Read: Chapters 1-3 HRM Mathis-Jackson Module 1 Commentary Do: Participate in the Week 1 and Week 2 conference discussions. Read the COURSE SCHEDULE section of the syllabus to determine the assignment due dates. Develop your critical path activities now before the semester pace picks up. Register with the school to take your final exam. Student Final Exam Registration: February 4-March 6 Late Exam Registration: March 7-March 13 Final Exam Week: April 25-May 1

WEEK 3 and 4: February 13 - February 26 MODULE 2 - INFLUENCES ON HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT Read: Chapters 4-5 HRM Mathes-Jackson Module 2 Commentary Do: Participate in the Week 3& 4 conference discussions. Begin research for your Case Study Paper due end of week 4. Instructions for this assignment are in the PROJECT DESCRIPTION area of the syllabus. Post your case study assignment to the Case Study tab in your Assignment Folder WEEK 5 and 6: February 27 - March 12 MODULE 3 - STAFFING AND EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES

Read: Chapter 8 HRM Mathes-Jackson Intro to Role Play Module 3 Commentary Do: Participate in your Week 5 & 6 conference discussions. Begin communicating and working with your team (in the Study Group area) to develop your solution to the role play. Begin by reading the instructions and the scenario in the PROJECT DESCRIPTION section of the syllabus and developing ideas to suggest to your team mates about your approach. This assignment is due at the end ofWeek 8.

WEEK 7 and 8: March 13 - March 26 MODULE 4 TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Read: Chapters 9, 10, 11 HRM Mathes-Jackson Module 4 commentary Do: Participate in Week 7 & 8 conference discussions which include a critique of a training design. Continue working with your team to develop your role play MEMO to the CEO. The assignment is due at the end of week 8. WEEK 9 and 10: March 27 - April 9 MODULE 5 - COMPENSATION PRACTICES Read: Chapters 12, 13, 14 HR Mathes-Jackson Module 5 Commentary Do: Participate in the Week 9 &10 conference discussion. Participate in Role Play and contribute to your team's final paper version. One member of team should post the group paper (Memo to CEO) to the appropriate week 9 conference topic. Take the time to read and review MEMOs posted by other teams. Think about their approach and how it is similar to or different from the approach taken by your team. By all means! Feel free to post comments and observations for them. WEEK 11 : April 10 - April 16

MODULE 6 - EMPLOYEE AND LABOR RELATIONS Read: Chapters 15, 16, 17 HRM Mathes-Jackson Module 6 Commentary Do: Participate in the Week 11 conference discussions Post your individual reflection paper summarizing your thoughts about your Role Play experience to your assignments folder by the end of week 11.
