MBSSKL Leadership Workshop Who are we?

We are all students/volunteers from UKEC Charisma, a branched organization from the United Kingdom Eire and Council of Malaysian Students (UKEC), an umbrella body for Malaysian student societies across Britain and Ireland. This summer, a group of students from the UK comprising of both the Malaysians and the locals over there will be volunteering in MBSSKL and Spastic Children Association of Selangor and Federal Territory (SCASFT), acting as mentors to the students while guiding and assisting them, ultimately hoping to inspire them to become a leader of themselves.

Why should you join this workshop?

Ever wondered what can you do after finishing your secondary school education? Felt like you can never express yourself in the public? Need to improve your social and communication skills? Want to improve your leadership skills? Joining this workshop does not only enable you to develop your leadership potential, but it also helps to improve your team working abilities, critical thinking and a better management of your time. Most importantly, the 16 volunteers will be your mentors for all the sessions, where you get the opportunity to interact with university students studying abroad to know more about their cultures and lifestyles, as well as answering any questions you may have.

There will be 7 sessions in this leadership course in total, listed as below; - 1st Aug (MON) : Introduction & Ice Breakers Get to know why the volunteers are here, talk to your mentors complemented with some interactive ice breaking games! - 3rd Aug (WED) : Time management and scheduling Too many things to do and too little time to complete? Learn how to revise your schedule and organize your planning in a proper manner.

- 5th Aug (FRI) : Confidence All accomplishments start from believing in yourself, and knowing that you will succeed, and that, is confidence. - 6th Aug (SAT) : Amazing Race Team Building Workshop Team building activities will never be the same again, compete amongst the rest in an amazing race concept workshop in a day, and prizes are up for grab for the best of teams! - 8th Aug (MON) : Public Speaking and Presentation Skills Presenting yourself and speaking confidently is crucial in your life, grab some tips and lessons on how to improvise those skills of yours. - 10th Aug (WED) : Advertising and Publicity How do you stand out among the rest in a job interview? Advertising yourself using the power of media could be a powerful tool to gain success, learn what you can do with these! - 12th Aug (FRI) : Appreciation and Reflection The final session, time to summarize what youve learnt in all the session and put it into use, plus certificates will be awarded to participants who are willing to spend their time, to become a better leader.

Join us in this leadership workshop that will develop your inner potential to become a leader, as it will not only benefit you in your studies, but in your future endeavors as well.
