(Saint Augustine Church, Barberton, OH) (August 7, 2011)

Nineteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Sometimes it isnt the troubles we face that make life hard; its our fear and doubt that weakens our resolve. The gospel today recounts how Jesus calmed fears and encouraged His followers. We can trust the calming presence of Christ in our family life. Our families can be like Christ when we encourage those facing trouble. (Insert graphic 1106-0086)

"Do you realize that Jesus is there in the tabernacle expressly for you - for you alone? He burns with the desire to come into your heart...don't listen to the demon, laugh at him, and go without fear to receive the Jesus of peace and love... - St. Therese of Lisieux. There is a difficult hour to fill this week, Thursday
367 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. morning 3-4 am. We know that this is not easy, and we ask that you please show your appreciation for the men who make Holy Hours during the night by including them in your prayers. May God continue to bless all the adorers and their families! Please contact Judy at 330-212-0926 if you are interested in becoming part of the Holy Hour Program. My Dear Parishioners: As you know, Pope John Paul II called for a new English translation of the Roman Missal. We are now preparing in earnest to welcome the new translation of the Roman Missal when we begin the upcoming season of Advent. It is an exciting time in the life of our church as we look to grow in our understanding of the great mystery that is the source and summit of our faith. Today, every family will receive a booklet at Mass explaining these changes. Over the next several weeks, until the Season of Advent, there will be a catechetical moment at the beginning of the Celebration of the Mass explaining the changes and inserts in the bulletin. I know change is not easy, but this is an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the greatest treasure given to us by God through Jesus Christ, the Celebration of the Eucharist. Christs Peace Fr.
