CHANGING DIMENSIONS OF HR AUDIT

HR Audit has been indispensible tool for an organization to achieve its desired results. HR Audit is concerned with the systematic verification of job analysis and design, recruitment and selection, orientation and placement, training and development, performance appraisal and job evaluation, employee and executive remuneration, motivation and morale, participative management, communication, welfare and social security, safety and health, industrial relations, trade unionism, and disputes and their resolution. HR audit is very much useful to achieve the organizational goal. In the global competition with chaos HR audit becomes absolutely necessary to assess the effectiveness of HR functions of an organization. This paper examines the changing veneer of HR Audit. This paper also attempts to identify nature, scope, importance, approaches, and effects of HR Audit in effective HR systems. HR Audit intends to review all aspects of Human Resources for mutual development of the employees and the organization concerned. This paper also presents various approaches which vividly portray the changing dimensions of HR Audit which considers the human resources of the organization as the owners and investors of human capital instead of mere human capital.
