In this position I spent ten weeks planning, writing, and performing developmentally appropriate storytime programs for high need 2 to 6 year olds. In this position I initiated and maintained professional relationships with the staff of the daycares and preschools we served for the duration of the internship. I performed 2-3 outreach storytimes per week, and also performed additional programs in the library as requested.
LEAD PRESCHOOL TEACHER, EVANSTON DAY NURSERY, EVANSTON, IL 2005-2006

As a lead teacher in this program, I wrote, submitted, and implemented developmentally appropriate lesson plans on a weekly basis for a class of fourteen 2-5 year old children. My duties involved enforcing safety rules, encouraging the children to develop positive social relationships, arranging the environment and preparing supplies for activities, and assuring that equipment and supplies were in good condition. I prepared conference reports for and conducted parent/ teacher conferences, supervised my assistant teacher and assigned duties as required, and contributed ideas and strategies in staff meetings, training sessions, conferences, and workshops.
