The Texas History curriculum followed at Pershing Middle School follows the guidelines set by the TEA). The objectives covered include Texas history through the Reconstruction Era.
As a simple reminder, the necessary supplies for this class are: Composition Notebook GT Only 2 in binder any color 1 set of 5 dividers Paper, pencil, and blue or black pen Map Pencils Below you will find a basic outline for the concepts and units that we will cover through the course of this year in Texas History. the

it
is
returned
to

is
the
breakdown
of
grades
for
this
class.
Tests/Projects 40% Tests are given to measure student comprehension of the class subject matter. At the beginning of each unit, students are given a study guide. Projects are another form of reinforcement of the subject matter and are usually given at the end of a unit. Daily Work 40% This includes homework, review sheets, vocabulary definitions/exercises, graph activities (such as maps, graphs, charts, etc.) and notes. Quizzes 20% This includes both planned and pop quizzes. Students are encouraged to review their notes every day for 5-10 minutes.
