1. Team Rules:

We have purposely kept the rules to a minimum in our classrooms. The following rules however are nonnegotiable throughout all of Team 8A and will be enforced throughout the entire school year. 1.) Please be in your assigned seat when it is time to start 2.) Please raise your hand to speak. Dont interrupt a classmate or myself. 3.) Refrain from working on other class work in your classes. If you cannot handle this rule we will be taking things away from you. 4.) No SLEEPING!!! 5.) You will be required to speak in class to me as well as to your classmates. You will not always be with your BEST FRIEND! 6.) RESPECT EVERYONE YOU ARE AROUND!!!! We will respect you and we expect the same from you!! If you have a problem with another student talk to your counselor or myself. My room will always be a safe place for you as well as for anyone else that is in the class.

*These have been placed in each of our core classrooms to ensure continuity throughout the team

2. Team Policies: Homework -- In your classes you will be doing a variety of assignments.
Reading, worksheets, bell ringers, quizzes, tests, maps, projects and group work. Each assignment will carry a different weight or points. You will always know how much each assignment is worth and your tests, quizzes, projects and reports will be valued a little more than daily work.

Late Work If you do not have homework done at the time it is due, make sure you tell the teacher immediately. It is the teachers discretion whether or not he/she will accept the late work . Be prepared to face some sort of consequence (pts. taken off, stay after school, etc. . .) if homework is not completed. Makeup Work All assignments are to be completed BEFORE a planned
absent slip will be signed. Get make up work done!! If ill, you have the number of days plus one day to complete make up work. For Example: Absent 2 days, student has 3 days to make work up.

3. Team Consequences:
When a student makes a bad decision there will be consequences. For level 1 discipline issue, you will be given a discipline sheet. In this discipline sheet you will explain how you can and will improve your minor, but distracting, behavior issues in the classroom. You must return it by the next school day with your parents signature. Penalty for no paragraph and/or no parent signature will be a parent contact, and a 30 minute detention period where this work will be completed and more will be assigned. If you collect 3 discipline sheets you will have a guidance referral and team consequence. For a level 2, 3 or 4 discipline issue you will have an automatic phone call home, discipline sheet, and possible office referral.

4. Time of Team Meetings:

Team meetings will be held every day from 11:20 to 11:50 in Krzemiens room (412). Nan Cunningham will be coming in on Thursdays at 11:20 to discuss various student issues and successes with team teachers.

5. Service Projects
As of right now our team is in the process of deciding on a service project for this year. We will participate in any school functioned drive such as toilet paper drive, canned food drive, etc

6. Technology
The technology used by the team continues to grow every year. Ms. Krzemien and Ms. Hester both have mounted projectors this year in which they will be able to do a variety of things with including showing videos, playing review games, and being able to physically show students different ideas and concepts. Ms. Kucera has a Smartboard in her room. Ms. Krzemien, Kucera, and Petersen also have ELMO viewers which are used on a daily basis. Last year we added the COW units which are on a rotation schedule among the teams. The Team web page is up and running, along with Ms. Krzemiens blog for her classroom. http://mskrz8thgradeenglish.blogspot.com/ http://fms8b.blogspot.com/
