Option #1 PLAYDOUGH BRICKS What you need: playdough What you do: Give each child a portion of playdough. Demonstrate for them how to create a brick. While they are working, talk about the Israelites serving as slaves for Pharaoh (i.e. they had to make bricks from mud and straw, they worked all day in the hot sun, etc.). What you say: Today in our story we learned about how the Israelites had to work hard as slaves doing things like making bricks. God didnt want the Israelites to be slaves anymore, so he told Moses to go talk to Pharaoh. Moses was scared to talk to Pharaoh, but did he obey? Who can you obey? Option #2 FOLLOW THE ARROW

I Can Obey Arrow

Supplies: cardstock scissors glue yellow pom-poms markers or crayons

What you need: copy of the craft arrow What you do: Have the children stand facing the leader with plenty of space for movement. Tell them to follow the arrow. If the arrow points up, they should jump up. If the arrow points down, they should fall down. If the arrow points to the left or right, they should jump to the left or right. Vary the action by having the children respond in slow motion, by doing the opposite, etc. What you say: Today in our story we learned about how God didnt want the Israelites to be slaves anymore, so he told Moses to go talk to Pharaoh. Moses was scared to talk to Pharaoh, but did he obey? Who can you obey? Option #3 GOD SAYS What you need: nothing What you do: Have the children stand facing the leader. Play the game exactly like Simon Says with the exception of using God instead of Simon. Direct the children to jump, clap, hop, skip, etc. following the words God says. Do not disqualify a child for not following the directions. What you say: Today in our story we learned about how God didnt want the Israelites to be slaves anymore, so he told Moses to go talk to Pharaoh. Moses was scared to talk to Pharaoh, but did he obey? Who can you obey?

Directions: 1. 2. 3. Copy the craft page onto cardstock. Have the children cut out the arrow. You may want to precut for younger preschoolers. Have the children color the arrow and then glue the pom-poms to the circles around the edge of the arrow.
