Christian Film & Media Fellowship Initiative
Pilot at Syracuse University – Newhouse
Expansion via InterVarsity Christian Fellowship national network
Contact: John Decker 315.656.7973 john_decker@ivstaff.org
Two Objectives of Initiative:

(1) Enhance the Christian Media Student’s effectiveness for the Kingdom as they learn & launch
into your media careers.

– Create national/global website to tie together Christian media student and professional resources,
to collaborate on projects and open doors professionally (in-process now)
– Create campus media teams/fellowships at Christian and secular film schools to draw together
Christian media students to share ideas and collaborate on projects in their schools.
– Create foundation for financial resources to enhance the quality of undergrad and graduate film
& media projects so they can be distributed

(2) Use Media Student’s current media interests in a way that connects evangelically to students
on their own campus. Create easy-to-use model for many campuses.

* Most people are drawn to media. It can be used to foster discussion and gospel conversations.
* Strategically use FaceBook, YouTube, and websites. The human connection – tie to testimony,
conversational evangelism.
* Organize regular Christian film forums on campus – and show a combination of quality evangelical or
apologetic films, their own works, other students works from around the country, and follow it up with
testimony and discussion. Provide how-to and menu of films to easily replicate on campuses
