Informatica 8.

6 with Oracle 10G Installation Procedure


1. Create 2 user accounts in Oracle 10G with SYSTEM login and its password before installing Informatica. Grant DBA permissions to those 2 user accounts created. CREATE user mtdata identified by mtdata; Grant DBA to mtdata; CREATE user mydwh identified by mydwh; Grant DBA to mydwh; 2. Now Install Informatica software from folder Informatica8.6Software/Informatica 8.6 server/ Click on Install.exe file. Click ok. Click Next Select the icon Install Power Center 8.6.0(defaultly selected) . Click Next. Browse the license key (infa_install_version.properties) from the folder where software is located. Click Next. Click Next. Installation Directory: Browse Installation Directory. Click Next. Click Next. Click on Install. Domain Configuration: Select Create New Domain. Click Next. Enter the following details: Database Type : Oracle Database URL : home (computer name) Database userid: mtdata (first user created in oracle 10G) Database user password: mtdata (first user password created in oracle 10G) Database service name: orcl Click on Test Connect. (You should get Connection Passed). Click on Next. Configuration Domain: Enter the following values for the list: Domain username: admin (any username , case-sensitive) Domain password: admin (any password , case-sensitive) Confirm password: admin Click on Next. Uncheck the checkbox(Run Informatica services under a different user account) Click on Next. Click Done.

Informatica Configuration: 3. Click on start button in windows, go to All Programs, select Informatica Power Center 8.6.0, select services, click on Start Informatica Services. Click on start button in windows, go to All Programs, select Informatica Power Center 8.6.0, select services, click on Power Center Administration Console. Enter domain username and password given during installation of Informatica software. i.e:Username: admin Password: admin Click on Logon Click on Administration Console. Click on Create button(drop-down list), select Repository Service. Enter the following details: Service name : home_rep ( any name can be given for repository) Primary node : node01_home (select the node from the drop down list) Database type : Oracle Connection String : orcl DB user : mydwh (second user created in oracle 10G) DB password : mydwh (second user password created in Oracle 10G) Creation Mode: Select Create new repository content Select Create as global repository Select Enable version control Click on Create. (Status shows Succeeded) Select Properties tab in the right pane. Select General Properties. Click on Edit. Operating Mode : Normal Click on OK. Click Yes. Click on OK. 4. Again click on Create, select Integration service. Enter the following details: Service name: home_int (any name for integration service) Assign : Nodes (select nodes) Primary node : node01_home( select from the drop-down list) Associated Repositroy service : home_rep (select the repository service name) Repository username : Administrator Repository password : Administrator Data Movement Mode : ASCII Click on Create. Check the box Enable service( Enable Integration service after creation) Click on OK. Click Close 5. Client Installation: Open the folder Informatica 8.6/ PC86_Client_win32_x86

Double click on Install icon. Click on OK. Click on Next. Click on Next. Click Next. Click Next. Click on Install. Click Next. Select All. Click Done. Click on Start / All Programs / Informatica 8.6 / Client / Power Center Repository Manager: From Repository menu, Click on Add Repository. Enter the following details: Repository : home_rep Username : Administrator Click OK. Right Click on Repository home_rep, provide the following details: Username : mydwh Password : mydwh Connection settings Click on Add Gateway Host : Domain_Computer Host No : 5001 Gateway Port : 5001 Click on OK Username : Administrator Password : Administrator .
