in order of arrival, by mail only, and based on the availability of openings in the classes chosen by the applicant. List, in order of
preference, the classes you are willing to attend. It is strongly recommended that you chose a variety of locations, fill all
twelve spaces on the application and chose dates through-out the entire season, including the fall. The maximum class size is
twelve students and classes will fill very quickly. If you wish to take your class with a friend or family member, return your
applications in the same envelope and include a note (the applications may be copied - be sure the full legal name, address,
phone numbers & DOB of each applicant is included).

Confirmation letters will only be sent to those who successfully enroll. Included will be the date/location of your class and
a tuition payment form. DO NOT send a payment with this application. Full payment of the tuition fee is required within one
week from the date your confirmation letter is received. Payment may be made by check, money order or credit card and is fully
refundable up to fifteen days prior to the course date.

If you do not receive a confirmation letter in early April please be patient! We will contact you just as soon as we have
placed you in a class. Constant inquiries on the status of your application only slows down the process.

The Basic RiderCourse The 2-day Basic RiderCourse (BRC) hours are from 8:00 AM until approximately 6:00 PM Saturday and
Sunday with a combination of hands-on riding experience and classroom instruction. We’ll provide a small training bike and instruction
in a large closed parking area, MSF-certified instructors will teach you the basics in a step-by-step process. On Sunday you’ll take the
written test and a riding skills evaluation. Successful completion of both parts usually qualifies you for your motorcycle license
endorsement. If you’ve never been on a motorcycle before or you are returning to riding after many years, this class is right for you.
Fee for the BRC : $275.00.

BRC Course Requirements: Participants must be at least 16 years old. Parental permission and proof of driver-ed completion is
required for those under 18. Students must attend all sessions and complete all requirements set forth by the Motorcycle Safety
Foundation (MSF) in order to obtain a completion card. Successful completion of the written test and the skill evaluation qualifies the
beginner student for a waiver of the State road test. You must have the ability to balance a bicycle. For the protection of all
concerned, we reserve the right to suspend anyone from riding activities if, in our opinion, they can not control a
motorcycle.

The Experienced RiderCourse The MSF’s Experienced RiderCourse (ERC) is held on Saturdays or Sundays, from 9:00 AM until
about 5:00 PM. Riding your own bike, you’ll practice exercises that will hone your braking, cornering, and swerving skills. Even if
you’ve been riding for some time, there’s always something new to learn. Fee for the ERC : $100.00.

ERC Course Requirements: Participants must be at least 16 years of age and are required by Maine law to have had a motorcycle
endorsement on their license for at least 3 months. Participant-owned motorcycles used in the ERC must be street-legal (i.e.
registered, inspected, and insured) and will be subject to a safety check before the riding exercises. For the protection of all
concerned, we reserve the right to suspend anyone from riding activities if, in our opinion, they can not control a
motorcycle.

Dress Requirements for all courses: A DOT or Snell approved helmet, eye protection (goggles, glasses, or a helmet face shield),a
long sleeved shirt or jacket, long pants of sturdy material, over-the-ankle footwear, full-fingered gloves (leather boots and gloves are
preferred). Rain gear (no ponchos) is strongly recommended.

The Rider-Ed Team looks forward to teaching you to ride safely!
