5.1.2 Controls, Indicators and Test Jacks
The test jack of the ODU is shown in Fig. 5-1. This function is described as follows:
RX LEV MON jack:
Gives access to monitoring receiving level voltage.
Provoded for transmission of OW signal between IDU and ODU when OW/RX LEV Monitor
and headset is connected.
The X0818A OW/RX LEV Monitor (optional) used for operation and maintenance is shown in Fig. 5-
2. The operation range of the OW/RX LEV Monitor is 0 C to +45 C. These function are desribed as
follows:
METER:
Indicates receiving RF level voltage.
OW indicator:
Lights when OW communication is performed (The OW ON-OFF switch is set to ON).
When the OW indicator is not lit even though OW switch is set to ON, replace the battery
(6F22(UB)/9V) since the battery becomes weak.
OW ON-OFF switch:
Enables to transmission OW signal between IDU and ODU. When the OW communication
is performed, OW ON-OFF switch is set to ON.
VOL control:
Enables to adjust receive OW voice level.
RX LEV/OW IN jack:
Supplied monitoring RX LEV voltage and OW signal from the ODU.
HEADSET jack:
Permits communication between IDU and ODU when orderwire headset is connected.

INSTALLATION ROI-S03423

3.2 ODU Mounting on Andrew Antenna
Procedure for mounting methot is as follows:
Factory setting of antenna is V polarization. When the H polarization is required, steps 1 to 5 of
procedure is performed.
Step 1. Remove the antenna radome.
LARGE O-RING
Note: In 18-38GHz band 2 O-rings are attached in Andrew direct mount antenna kit, large one
is used for ODU mounting and small one is used for only waveguide connection. 13 and
15GHz band antenna doesnt have small O-ring. (Small O-ring isnt used for Andrew
direct mount antenna.)
If the small O-ring is used for ODU direct mount installation, a gap occurs between
ODU and antenna for RF interface, because ODU has a small tab at RF interface and it
interfere to the small O-ring. Therefore it may happen transmit or receive level down.

Step 3. Hold the antenna with your hand to rotate it by
90 degrees.
Step 4. Check the aperture part of the connection unit is
rotated by 90 degrees, the fix it with screws that
were loosened in step 2.
Step 5. Fix the radome that was removed in step 1.
Step 2. To rotate the antenna connection unit, keep the
antenna stand horizontally and loosen screws
with Allen wrench.
Note: Connection unit and radiator are integrated.
Do not keep the antenna aperture download
for working, or the radiator may drop or get
damaged.

Step 8. Mount the mount pivot plate with v-clamp to the pole.
Step 9. Tight M10 hex head screw with wrench to fix the plate.
Step 10. Mount the mounting bracket to the pivot plate mounted in step 8.
Step 11. Adjust the elevation and tighten M10 hex head screw with wrench to fix the mounting
bracket.
Step 6. Mount the azimuth adjustment clamp and v-clamp to the pole.
Step 7. Tighten M10 hex head screw with wrench to fix the clamps.

Step 12. Mount the antenna to the mounting bracket.
Step 13. Tighten M10 hex head screw with wrench to fix the antenna.
Step 14. When vertical polarization is required, rotate the ODU so as to go up the plate marked V.
Step 15. When horizontal polarization is required, remove the guide pin fixed on the plate marked
with V.
Step 16. Insert the guide pin removed in step 15 behind of the plate marked H.
Step 17. Rotate the ODU so as to go up the plate marked H.
