HIV Prevention: MISTER Program Monday, September 12, 2011 until filled Salaried; full-time Minimum 40 hours per week; occasional extra hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required Number of Openings: 1 Salary: Competitive salary with excellent benefits package Preferred Start Date: October 2011 Travel Required: Limited Supervisory Position: Minimal Work Location: Metro Atlanta/Midtown Position Description SUMMARY: The Program Manager for the Department of Prevention/MISTER Program at Positive Impact is responsible for assisting the Prevention Director in developing, managing, and administering the HIV prevention and risk reduction program; database creation and administration, and data management; project planning; report generation; staff mentoring regarding data collection and utilization; staff training needs assessment; grant writing and fundraising assistance; and provision of general administrative and management support for the Prevention Director. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure various projects in the Prevention Department reach all targeted goals, milestones and deliverables via effective program planning and scheduling; Plan the project life cycle of each intervention strategy with structured target points to ensure successful project implementation; Define required resources and schedule for project implementation and maintenance; Identify and solve project issues effectively; Perform team assessment and evaluations, and generate reports based on data collected for the Prevention Director; Exhibit exceptional level of professionalism and strong leadership qualities; Possess strong organizational, presentation and customer service skills; Participate in all projects that deal with prevention services; Mentor direct service staff on data collection, data integrity and data entry and retrieval; Assess staff training needs and select appropriate training tools for team members to effectively achieve project goals and objectives;

Comply with and assist Prevention Director in the enforcement of standard company as well as departmental policies and procedures; Lend support and expertise to Prevention Director in an assistant director capacity; Design, program, administer and manage project data utilizing Microsoft Access and/or Excel applications via the creation of appropriate relational databases; Assist with the design and implementation of protocols and procedures to ensure the overall cleanliness, consistency, integrity and accessibility of collected data; Generate data retrievals and summaries from database; Automate queries and summary reports that are easily accessible to management and key staff; Assist with grant writing, resource procurement and fundraising for prevention services; Assist the Prevention Director in such areas as quality management protocols, data collection procedures, community advisory board liaison, and oversight of interns and volunteers in the department; and Additional relevant duties as assigned. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Associates degree in computer science, information technology (IT), computer information systems (CIS) or closely related field; Bachelors degree preferred; and specializations in database administration and/or program management ideal. A minimum of five years of full-time paid work experience designing and administering relational databases and program management experience may substitute for degree. REQUIRED JOB SKILLS: Documented database development and database administration skills; Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel for the utilization of spreadsheets for data collection, management, manipulation and report generation; Strong verbal and written communication and competent interpersonal skills; Creative thinking and results-focused; Ability to multitask and prioritize; General analytical skills with a fundamental understanding and working knowledge of database management, project management and business processes; Solid skills in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite in addition to Access and Excel, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint; Professional use of the English language, both written and oral, to effectively communicate information; Ability to work effectively under pressure of deadlines and meeting funding obligations and commitments; and Ability and interest in working with a diverse staff in an agency that serves a diverse client base across many ethnicities, races, ages, HIV status, sexual orientations and other culturally diverse characteristics of staff and clients.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS (Not Required) Fundamental understanding of relational database architecture, such as Access or FileMaker database management programs; Working knowledge of VBA, parameter queries and SQL; Skills utilizing Microsoft Excel pivot tables; Demonstrated knowledge of issues related to HIV/AIDS and other STDs; Demonstrated knowledge of the prevention and resource needs of gay and bisexual men in metropolitan Atlanta; and Program management and/or IT background.
