The UN has launched an appeal for $357 million to help millions cope with oods in Pakistan that have killed more than 300 people and damaged or destroyed 1.2 million homes in areas still reeling from last years catastrophic ooding.

2003: Sindh province was badly a ected when above normal monsoon rainfall caused ooding. Flooding also hit Karachi. At least 484 people died and some 4,476 villages in the province were a ected.

2009: Karachi oods. At least 26 people died and hundreds injured. The oods are the result of the worst rains in the region in thirty years. 2010: Almost all of Pakistan was a ected when massive ooding caused by record breaking rains hit Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. At least 2,000 people died and almost 20 million people were a ected.

2007: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and coastal Balochistan were badly a ected due to monsoon rainfall. At least 152 people died in KhyberPakhtunkwain in July and August, while 815 people died in Balochistan and Sindh.
