The goal of this course is to prepare the students for designing pipeline system and open channels by applying the basic principles of hydraulics. The topics include the followings: Flow in pipes, pipe networks analyses, pump pipeline analyses. Uniform flow, rapidly varied flow and gradually varied flow in an open channel.
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Learning Outcomes
Ability to recognize the basic principles of hydraulics for designing the pipeline system and open channels. Ability to analyze flow in one pipe, two pipes and pipes in a network. Ability to solve problems of multiple pump systems (series, parallel, variable speed pump operations). Ability to explain unsteady flow in pipes (water hammer) Ability to analyze the three different kind of flow in open channel and design the suitable channel. Remarks
